Understanding this graph will help you understand why you may develop injuries when exercising. We should aim to stay within the yellow zone, thereby progressively overloading our tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones etc), encouraging adaptation 📈. Too much load, too frequently however and we run the risk of injury 🤕. Too little load however and we run the risk of detraining 📉, thereby resulting in a loss of conditioning and reduced tissue tolerance.
