LETO A centre of excellence for pelvic health and clinical exercise dedicated to supporting women through

We believe young women suffering from dyspareunia shouldn’t suffer in silence. Mothers and their bodies need to be looked after just as much as their babies do after they give birth and they shouldn’t have to live with ‘broken’ bodies just because they birthed a baby. You can still have the wildest sex of your life in your 50s and there is no need to ‘put up’ with the physiological side effects the menopause puts on your body. We also believe women should be provided with clinically excellent pelvic health care. That women have a right to experience a respectful, caring and dedicated team of specialist pelvic health physiotherapists and exercise professionals. We work with our clients to provide:
> an understanding and educational approach to pelvic health and their care
> evidence-based assessments and treatment to address symptoms and transform their pelvic health
> personalised and progressive restoration programs to achieve their individual pelvic health and fitness goals

The team strive to be a centre of excellence in the field of pelvic health. They achieve this with an unfeathered commitment to ongoing learning and offering the best available care for their clients. The services offered at LETO include: specialist pelvic health physiotherapy; clinical pilates; postnatal care, pregnancy and menopause checks; massage; ThermiVa vaginal rejuvenation; The LETO Method postnatal recovery program; sexual dysfunction clinic; pessary fittings; pre & post-surgical care

And just like that we have another wonderful pelvic health physiotherapist joining the LETO team in Queen’s Park!

A mother of two, Karin’s passion for pelvic health began after her own experience with birth injury and traumatic birth. Following a career in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, she has specialised in pelvic health for the past seven years.

Karin is passionate about supporting women at any stage of their life in their pelvic health journey, ranging from young adults suffering from the debilitating symptoms of endometriosis, women who just had a baby, and menopausal women to ladies in their nineties seeking support on how to manage the discomfort of prolapse.

Through her experience working at the King Edward VII Hospital, one of the most renowned hospitals in London for gynaecological care, Karin has gained extensive experience and knowledge in gynaecological postoperative rehabilitation, including scar management. Karin is Pilates-trained and also specialises in the management and rehabilitation of chronic pelvic pain, including vulvodynia and vaginismus.

Karin is currently undergoing training in the highly specialised field of pelvic physiotherapy for children and adolescents. This area, often shrouded in stigma, is one she is passionate about raising awareness for, with the aim of supporting more families in the future.

Karin divides her time between a two-day-per-week clinic at LETO and running the pelvic health physiotherapy service at King Edward VII Hospital.

When not working, Karin can be found dancing away in the kitchen to the tunes of Matilda with her two daughters. She has always loved hiking and swimming in nature as much as enjoying a good brunch with a glass of rose in hand with friends at a London rooftop bar!

Welcome to the team Karin, we couldn’t be happier to have you on board!

And for all you NW ladies, Karin is available from this week onwards in our Queen’s Park clinic on Thursdays and Fridays 🌼

Did you know the phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” originates from an African proverb and conveys the message that it takes many people (“the village”) to provide a safe, healthy environment for children, where children are given the security they need to develop and flourish, and to be able to realize their hopes and dreams.

Well at LETO we know it takes a village to run a business where our clients and team can do as much too!

So on this IWD we want to acknowledge all the wonderful women in our special team. It is so humbling to be able to say that each one contributes SO much to who we are and our quest to do better for women.

Thank you team LETO (and some cameo’s from our BH ‘sisters’ too!). You really do rock 🤍

As pelvic health physiotherapists, and health & exercise professionals, it is our responsibility to provide the best care possible for postnatal mothers to make a meaningful impact for positive change.

We believe in the power of “small pebbles make for big ripples.” When we educate a woman about her body, this knowledge can extend to her friends, children, and their children.

As we lead up to International Women’s Day on the 08th of March we will be focusing on diastasis recti, a topic that can cause many new mothers much concern. We are also thrilled to be participating in a webinar tomorrow on this topic with Nancy from

The current status quo is no longer acceptable. We must do more.

Mothers require and deserve structured rehabilitation and support during the postpartum period. During this time, you are navigating the care of a new baby, coping with lack of sleep, attempting to recover from childbirth, and may be experiencing body and life dysmorphia. You are vulnerable.

We need to improve our support for mothers by educating them on what better care looks like and what steps they can take to achieve optimal recovery during the postpartum period. It is crucial now more than ever to offer easily accessible, evidence-based, practical, and educational information on postpartum recovery..

Not long now.. we are SO excited to bring LETO to the North West of London with LETO Queen’s Park taking bookings from Jan 24th! This is particularly special for co-founder Carrie, who had her boys at the Royal Free Hospital, went to antenatal classes in Queen’s Park with , has spent numerous days with her brood in and around the beautiful park itself (these days regularly found on the side of a football pitch instead of the sand pit!) and first began her crusade in 2015 spreading the word and educating women about the importance of pelvic health for mothers alongside the wonderful Clare Pacey at Queens’ Park - when superstar first launched

Since then, the neighbourhood has benefited from the arrival of many more amazing offerings for women and their well-being, with whom we look forward to working together and continuing to do better for women!

Stay tuned x

PS There might be another women’s health devotee & Queen’s Park mother in this pic, too.... 👀❤️

For this reason, we strongly recommend every woman experiencing menopause symptoms attend a check with a specialist pelvic health physiotherapist to take proactive steps to reduce symptoms and ensure you are taking the steps needed to be resilient and strong in the next phase of your life.

Your treatment might include: - strength and conditioning exercises to support reduced muscle mass or bone density
- pelvic floor muscle training to improve confidence in your bladder and bowel
- manual therapy to reduce tension in the pelvic floor
consideration of a pessary to treat bothersome prolapse

Your pelvic health physiotherapist can also advise other healthcare professionals you may need to consult, such as a gynaecologist for hormone replacement therapy, a nutritionist for a healthier diet, or a psychologist to improve your mood and reduce brain fog. At LETO, we have an incredible external network with London’s top consultants, GPs and other healthcare providers to call on.

You will also receive a detailed pathway to improve your pelvic health function and achieve your goals.

Should we ever think additional opinions or intervention might be valuable, we have an unmatched external network with London’s top consultants and nutritionists to call on.

They may also experience sadness, depression, poor concentration, and amplified anxiety and depression.

Many women can also experience sleep problems during menopause, which can worsen symptoms such as irritability, difficulty concentrating and anxiety. Improving your sleep quality can help you manage some of the mental health symptoms associated with menopause. We will discuss this area further in future posts.

Various treatments are available to help alleviate the psychological effects of menopause, but it's crucial to select the one that suits you the best. You have options like cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), hormone replacement therapy (HRT), counselling, mindfulness, antidepressant medication, and other therapies.

Making lifestyle changes, such as consuming a well-balanced and nutritious diet and exercising regularly, can be beneficial in managing certain menopausal symptoms.

Aiming for at least 30 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per day or 2.5 hours per week is recommended. Also, practicing deep breathing, yoga, and stretching exercises can help manage the stress associated with menopause and its symptoms.

It can be helpful to talk to other women experiencing similar physical changes in person or online. If you're experiencing menopause symptoms, it's important to speak with your GP or a specialist menopause doctor who can offer the proper support and help you manage your symptoms effectively.

You don't have to put your life on hold because of menopause. Plenty of options are available to help you feel better and enjoy life to the fullest. Don't let this natural stage of life hold you back - take control and reclaim your vitality.
