Psychoanalytic Supervision Course

The Guild’s Psychoanalytic Supervision course will run on eight weekends from October 2021 to May 2022. The course will be run on Zoom or in person, depending on the situation with the pandemic and the advisability of meeting in person.

The course is for psychoanalytic psychotherapists who meet the eligibility requirements of the UKCP’s Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis (CPJA).

Now in its thirteenth year, the course will comprise:

* An innovative training course, structured around different theories about the history and practice of psychoanalytic supervision

* In-depth discussion of transference, ethics, boundaries and the constraints of working within different settings

* Ongoing exploration of differences, including class, culture, race and sexuality

* Emphasis on developing practitioners’ own distinctive supervisory style

* Suitable for experienced supervisors and more recently qualified clinicians

* Prepares students for registration with the British Association of Psychodynamic & Psychoanalytic Supervisors (BAPPS)

£2,000 for Guild Members; £2,250 for students from other organisations. Fees exclude 15 hours (minimum) Supervision of Supervision, which is to be arranged by individual students. 18 months’ subscription to PEP web is provided for non-Guild applicants.

Although our own and other supervision courses cannot automatically grant BAPPS membership, the course, including essay, fulfils the membership of the British Association of Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervisors (BAPPS).
