Blithe Yoga was founded in 2016 by Lexi Elven. We moved into our studio location in the autumn of 20 BLITHE YOGA was founded by Lexi Elven in 2016.
Lexi has been practicing yoga since 2003 after coming to the UK from Hong Kong and needing a discipline to compliment her martial arts and dance foundation. Through this love of mental focus as well as the joy of movement her classes combine strong asanas (postures) with an energetic and playful
spirit. As a musician with a keen interest in pranayama and philosophy, she focuses on how the mind and
body can benefit from sound-work and meditation. Blithe Yoga is currently based in Forest Gate, London

Sabina is moving away from this part of London but I know this isn’t goodbye as there are lots of exciting things in the horizon.

~ S O U N D S E S S I O N S ~
Fully booked beautiful sound session last night.
Mayra and I are slightly changing our sound offerings here at Blithe. We’re now going to run them alternately once a month, and including complimentary modalities like breath work, group chanting and somatic movements to ease into the sound.
Last night, in the first sound bath for year of the snake, we did some breath and somatic movement to connect with the heart; and contemplated the difficulty in the snakes shedding of the skin and what that might mean or feel for us. Then chanted the mantra connected to the Heart Sutra with the harmonium.

~ P R A C T I C E ~
As the wonderful Raj will be away in India for six months to deepen his practice (Bon-Voyage Raj! 🎉). We have some really lovely teachers lined up for you to continue your practice with us here at Blithe.
Paul will be teaching the Wednesday Flow+Restore class at 7:30-8:30pm. Paul’s background is in social care and takes this inclusive approach to fitness and wellbeing and in this context yoga classes too making sure they are accessible - creating a warm, calm and positive environment to enable to students to explore their practice.
Anja will teach the Hatha Yoga on Thursday lunchtimes at 12-1pm. Anja is already a solid cover teacher with Blithe so you may have already taken a class with her. Originally from Germany, Anja also started in social work before travelling to India to practice and become a yoga teacher and is currently working towards an MA in Traditions of Yoga and Meditation at SOAS University of London.
The wonderful Sabina will be teaching Yoga, Breathwork + Meditation class on Sundays at 11:45am-1:15pm with her amazing Ta***ic Yoga traditions. This will then be taken over by Spoorthi who academically holds a Master’s degree in Yoga Therapy and has extensive experience in designing and conducting holistic well-being yoga sessions for individuals both in India and the UK.

Blithe Yoga was founded in 2016 by Lexi Elven. We moved into our studio location in the autumn of 2018.
The small team who teach our classes are extremely passionate about bringing all themes of yoga to their students. Each with a differing style but all with the highest quality. Delivering serious yoga with a playful spirit.
Our yoga & meditation ranges from stronger dynamic styles to gentler slower paces; for those that are pregnant; to parents and babies. We also provide a Community Yoga class every Wednesday evening at 6:15pm, this is a non-profit class where all proceeds go towards local homeless charity “Lola’s Homeless”.
