A huge congratulations to David from Community ConneX, who has been recognised as one of Harrow’s longest‑serving walking volunteers after an amazing 18 years of leading community walks.

David’s commitment, local knowledge and passion for keeping people active have made a real difference to residents across Harrow. His walks have supported physical health, mental wellbeing and community connection for nearly two decades.

Well done, David — your dedication is truly inspiring and deeply appreciated.

We’re excited to share some great news!

People ConneX has been awarded funding from through the Your Voice, Your Town initiative, helping us support community‑powered change and strengthen our neighbourhoods.

We specialise in creating friendly, welcoming events that help reduce social isolation and loneliness. We’d love to tell you more about what we do, and just as importantly, hear your ideas for building a more inclusive community.

Our first stop: Northolt Library

monthly community lunches. Join us as a Sandwich and Cake Maker and help create a welcoming, homely and nourishing environment for local residents.

No experience needed, just kindness, enthusiasm and a love of sharing food.

Community Sandwich and Cake Maker Volunteer

🕒 When: 2nd Wednesday of each month, 10am to 1pm
📍 Where: Fairfield Church, Windsor Close, Northwood HA6 1PD 🧡

Skills Needed
- Enjoys preparing simple sandwiches and baking
- Friendly and welcoming to help create a relaxed, sociable atmosphere
- Reliable and comfortable volunteering once a month
- Team‑oriented and happy working alongside staff and volunteers
- Kind and community‑minded, no professional experience required
- Willing to follow basic food hygiene guidance (training provided)

Community Supper Club Kitchen Volunteer

🕒 When: Mondays, 3.45pm to 6.30pm

📍 Where: Community ConneX, 25–29 Pinner Green, HA5 2AF

🧡 Skills Needed

- Enjoys preparing simple meals
- Friendly and welcoming to be able to help create a warm, sociable atmosphere
- Reliable and comfortable supporting a weekly or occasional session
- Team‑oriented and happy working alongside staff and other volunteers
- Kind and community‑minded, no professional cooking experience required
- Willing to follow basic food hygiene guidance (training provided)
