As I continue to recover from my fibroid surgery, I’m finally easing myself back into movement again. After over a year of feeling unwell — and having previously been so active and fit — it’s been a real lesson in patience and compassion to accept that my stamina isn’t what it used to be. The DOMS are real… but so is my determination to rebuild my strength gently and intentionally. 💪✨

So I was genuinely excited (and a bit relieved!) to try the new Vegan Creatine+ for Women from .

There’s such a persistent myth that creatine is only for bodybuilders and will make you bulky. The truth? You’d need to eat a lot and lift a lot for that to happen. Creatine is actually essential for all of us — supporting muscle function, brain health, hormonal balance, and even heart health.

What’s more, our natural creatine levels decline as we age… and women store 70–80% less than men. Yet we need it just as much — if not more.

That’s why I’m so impressed with this formulation. Zooki have created a vegan creatine blend enriched with zinc, B12, and B6 to support hormonal balance, muscle recovery, and healthy bone and muscle density — helping you stay active and strong throughout your cycle.

They also offer a men’s formula with cordyceps for aerobic support, as well as zinc and B12 for recovery and injury prevention.

Take it with plenty of water and let your body show you just how strong and resilient it can be. 🌿💫

If you’d like to try it, you can use my code LAURAJ20 for 20% off sitewide.

Winter has well and truly arrived here in the Highlands — and it is magical. ❄️✨ Pickle is in his absolute element… I think he loves the snow even more than we do! 🧡

With temperatures dropping across the country, it’s so important to keep yourself warm and supported. In Chinese Medicine, staying in tune with the seasons is one of the pillars of good health, and winter calls for protecting your qi and nourishing your MingMen Fire — the deep source of your vitality held between the kidneys.

A simple tip I swear by (and always share with friends):
Keep your head, feet, neck and the centre of your body warm.
On really cold days, try wrapping a scarf around your middle for extra heat. Body warmers or a haramaki are wonderful too.

And if you’re like me and still tempted by a winter wild swim (maybe not today 😂) — this is the moment for the full winter wetsuit, gloves, boots and a hat. Then warm up well afterwards.

Think: hot herbal teas, nourishing soups, hearty stews… all the cosy, comforting, qi-supporting goodness your body loves at this time of year. 🤍

Stay warm and take care of your winter energy 🤲✨

Some of the things I take daily to support my health that have been particularly beneficial to my recovery from
In fact these are the three things that I took with me into the hospital.

Iron - Having suffered with extremely heavy and prolonged periods for over two years I am taking liposomal iron to help build my iron levels back up. Liposomal iron is more easily absorbed without the upset stomach you can get from taking iron. Iron helps to improve energy levels, supports immune and muscle function.

Liposomal Vitamin C - supports the immune system, aids in the absorption of iron and supports wound healing.

Liposomal Magnesium Glycinate - wrapped in lipidds means the magnesium is protected when it goes through the digestive system so more of it can be absorbed by the body. Magnesium helps to support muscle function and recocery and aid with relaxation and sleep. Having a large fibroid that was in the muscle wall, meant that muscles in that area were stretched and had to be cut into to get the fibroid out. Taking magnesium as part of my supplement regime has really helped these muscles heal and recover.

I choose to take liposomal vitamins where I can for optimum absorption and I choose because of the extremely high quality of the products. I will only ever promote, recommend or sell products that I genuinely use myself. I have negotiated a great discount for you all on the zooki range - you can get 20% off site wide with code LauraJ20

Been feeling a bit rough last 24hours from the surgery, but also fed-up of being cooped up at home, so we headed to the beach for some wonderful sea air. We decided to head to the nature reserve - Waters of Philorth Beach as we hadn't been before (we love exploring). A few minutes on the beach breathing in that wonderdul sea air and I started to feel better, and still do now on our drive home. There is a reason the Victorians used to send people to convalesce by the sea.

Breathing in fresh sea air has many health benefits including:
1. Strengthening your immune system - research suggests breathing in marine aerosols containing microscopic organisms helps regulate the immune system.
2. Increased oxygen absorption - the negative ions in salty sea air are thought to aid oxygen absorption in the body which is great for all our cells and can aid better sleep.
3. Boosts your mood - the negative ions found in abundance in sea air are thought to help regulate the neurotransmitter serotonin our bodies natural mood booster.

💙What a wonderful excuse to spend more time at the beach/ by the sea 💙 and with over 19,000 miles of beautiful coastline in the UK (incl. Islands) there are plenty of sea walks to explore (figure taken from british cartography association website).

These are the things I am using to help heal my scars from surgery:

1. My hero product - this beautiful cold pressed vitamin E oil from specifically designed to help improve the appearance of scars - we have negotiated a special discount for you of 15% off using code laurajonesacupuncture. I love it so much I am using it on an old scar on my hand from a oven burn and I am noticing an improvement.

2. I am also using these medical grade silicone scar patches that help to hydrate and soften scars to encourage healing - these ones I just picked up in Superdrug because they can be cut to size. There are many other brands on the market but the main thing is that it should be medical grade silicone and unperfumed.

I actually have 4 scars - the other one is in my belly button so you can't really see it. I started using these things at about 3 weeks post surgery as the scars were covered and stitches still in for the first two weeks and then it was just too tender an area to touch. I still have some swelling and as you.can see the middle scar is dipped and a bit pulled still. I am going to give that another couple of weeks and then use acupuncture to plump it out. Acupuncture is great for scars because it breaks up adhesions, stimulates collagen and plumps up the skin. I will be back in clinic next week and you can book online here:

In my next post I will be sharing some of the supplements that have really been crucial to my recovery.

Following on from my post yesterday about my health and surgery I want to say how thankful and overwhelmed I am by all the support from across my channels 🙏🧡

I also had several messages and DMs from other women experiencing symptoms that they don't know what to do about.

Please note it is not my intention to disparage western medicine as a whole and in fact once I got the care and treatment I needed it was amazing. Unfortunately that took a lot to get to that point even for someone like me with medical training who isn't afraid to advocate for herself.

These are some of my symptoms that were dismissed and my hope in sharing these symptoms and experiences with you is that you know that they are not normal, you don't have to just carry on and you can get the care you are entitled to. The more we educate ourselves and advocate for ourselves hopefully the more women's healthcare will improve.

These are some of the other symptoms I was experiencing which are now improving post surgery:
1. Dizziness
2. Shortness of breath and palpitations
3. Crippling fatigue
4. Headaches
5. Forgetfulness and mild cognitive impairment
6. Anxiety and depression
These were attributed to the blood loss and subsequent iron deficiency - I was on an iron rich diet and taking liposomal iron but as my GP put it - it was like trying to fill up a bucket with a hole in it.

To anyone experiencing any of these symptoms or living with fibroids or infertility please know you are not alone.

With love,

Laura xx

🧡A Little Life Update🧡

I’ve gone back and forth about whether to share this or not. Being a practitioner of Chinese Medicine you always feel like you should be able to heal yourself, and when you can't you feel like a failure. However, I feel like now the time is right for me to talk about it, and I hope that by sharing my journey/ experience it helps others.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve been on quite a journey with my health — navigating fertility challenges and living with fibroids. Fibroids run in my family unfortunately.

Like many women, I tried everything I could to support my body naturally — nutrition, acupuncture, rest, and lifestyle changes which in the past has always worked. But after a couple of years of managing some pretty horrific and worsening symptoms, I recently made the decision to have surgery.

It wasn’t an easy choice, but it felt right. Unfortunately a fibroid in the muscle wall at the front of the Uterus grew fast and it grew big - the size of a grapefruit weighing about 1/2lb by the time it came out. I know I am lucky because it was just one fibroid and not as big as some women have.

The recovery has been slow and humbling at times, but it’s also been a reminder of how resilient the body (and mind) can be when given space, care, and compassion.

I’m still recovering and learning to listen more deeply to what my body needs every day. Over the next few weeks, I’ll share more about my experience and the things that have helped me heal — the products, rituals, and gentle practices that supported my recovery and continue to support my hormones and overall wellbeing.

If you’re going through something similar — please know you’re not alone. Healing looks different for everyone, and there’s no “right” timeline. Be kind to yourself. 🌿

With love,
Laura x

Get • 🍂 Never Supposed to Rake Your Leaves 🍂
For thousands of years, fallen leaves weren’t trash — they were treasure.
They fed the soil, sheltered insects, and gave back to the earth. Raking them away disrupts this natural cycle.

When you let leaves stay, they become food for the ground, homes for life, and protection for the roots. Nature already knows how to recycle — we just need to get out of the way. 🌎✨

Would you ever skip raking and let the earth do its thing?
