After a great day sharing experience with colleagues in Aarhus university Hospital, we made our way south to Hindsgavl Slot, a lively castle set in a beautiful setting for a day of lecturing and networking, then to Copenhagen. Looking forwards to the next few days in Copenhagen and Stockholm. 🇩🇰 🇸🇪

Flo finished her fellowship with us yesterday. Over the past year she has been everything you could hope for in a colleague and a surgeon. sharp, mature beyond her years, endlessly organised, and always working incredibly hard. She seemed to know every detail of every case and every patient, which made working with her an absolute pleasure. She ran the MDTs with efficiency and confidence. Patients loved her, the team loved her, and she even laughed at my terrible jokes.

She’s also a pro on the slopes, a brilliant baker, and somehow still found time to collect awards, including the prestigious Golden Telescope, and to present at multiple international conferences, always with style and clarity that made her stand out.

This is just the beginning of what will no doubt be an extraordinary career. CEMIG is a bit like Hotel California — you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.

Leaving the beautiful Vodice, Croatia today. The first Croatian congress concluded. Very well attended with excellent scientific value and unbelievable venue. I learnt a few words in Croatian and could say a couple of sentences at the beginning of my lecture! Hvala Vam … I still managed to enjoy long walks and cycled and swam in the cold sea with one of my heroes, Prof Jörg Keckstein. He may not know it as I never worked directly with him but I owe so much to him as a pioneer. I will definitely be back to the beautiful Croatia. For now, off to Strassbourg to teach on a cadaveric anatomy course.

Yesterday’s pre-congress cadaveric anatomy and endometriosis surgery course in Leeds kicked off in the best possible way. Huge congratulations to the amazing LOC—James Tibbot and Dorota Hardy—for putting it all together, and to Mohamed Mabrouk for expertly leading the workshop. Grateful to be part of such a dedicated faculty team and a room full of engaged, thoughtful surgeons. Here’s to a great start to the ASM! ”
