Last week, our cultivation team and genetics experts visited Ember Pharms to review the progress of our first crop. We also visited our outgrow partner, Tomanic to check on the progress of our clones. 🇿🇦

Being on-site in South Africa allowed us to witness the remarkable growth firsthand. The cultivars are thriving beyond expectations, leaving the team thrilled with the advancements. A special mention goes to Bernard Pieters our COO for his dedication and oversight of the process so far. 👏

New research reveals the UK's growing dependence on painkillers, with more than one in ten Brits relying on medication just to get through the day. Dr. Zoe highlights the dangers of prolonged opioid use in managing chronic pain, stressing the importance of seeking alternative remedies.

The Good Morning Britain team debated whether medical cannabis could offer a solution to this troubling trend, featuring Hannah Deacon. She champions enhanced drug accessibility following her son Alfie Dingley's remarkable journey with medical cannabis. Alfie went from enduring over 150 seizures weekly to enjoying four years of seizure-free life.

Unfortunately, not all children share Alfie's fortune. Despite cannabis legalisation in the UK for over five years, many individuals battling chronic pain and epilepsy face challenges in obtaining cannabis prescriptions from their GPs. While the NHS cites the availability of around 11,000 licensed cannabis products in the same timeframe, the surge in private prescriptions for unlicensed alternatives implies a significant number of patients struggle to access beneficial treatments.

Portugal's medical cannabis program has recently expanded significantly, marking a pivotal advancement in patient care within the country. The cannabis regulator has greenlit three new cannabis preparations, signalling the first such development since 2021.

Approved preparations include oral solutions and a flower product, targeting various conditions such as chronic pain, epilepsy, and chemotherapy-induced nausea 👏

We're excited to share the news of WLR Farming's official name change to Ember Pharms! 🌿

Ember Pharms is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CINV, located on 17,000 sqm of owned land in South Africa and holds a Section 22C cultivation and processing license. 🇿🇦
Ember Pharms is currently undergoing some essential upgrades, which once completed will yield around 2200kg - 3000kg annually. 🌱

This signifies an increasing recognition of the evolving landscape in cannabis regulation across the European Union (EU).
