Embodied Activation is a dance workshop designed to reconnect you with your power – through presence, through stepping fully into your body.
Through sensation. Through being fully in your body. Step into a fully alive version of you and move with renewed purpose and intention. Liza is passionate about activating the power that lies within us all and she does it with warmth, compassion and a tool bag of incredible experience. Liza has a rare ability to see the strength in others and bring it to life. You can be all that you are and you can live it with joy, playfulness and creativity.
This isn’t about performance or perfecting steps. It’s about inhabiting yourself more completely. Feeling what’s alive and moving from that place. Through guided and open movement, the body becomes a direct pathway to confidence, clarity and vitality.
Embodied Activation is about stepping into your body as a source of strength and truth.
There’s space to sweat.
Space to soften.
Space to take up more room.
Dance works on every level. It strengthens neural pathways, supports nervous system regulation, reduces stress and boosts mood-enhancing chemicals like dopamine and serotonin. Moving rhythmically — especially in a group — builds resilience, connection and grounded confidence.
Liza van der Smissen is a London-based dance and embodiment teacher who believes movement should feel powerful, freeing, and fun. With professional training and years of experience on stage and in film, she now combines dance with coaching tools that help people reconnect to their confidence and inner spark.
As co-founder of Female Film Club, she works globally with creatives and has a passion for letting people find their own unique way of moving that works for them. Her classes are not about being a “good” dancer. It’s about moving your body, owning your space, and remembering what it feels like to be out of your head and one with your body.
