🏃‍♂️Ground Reaction Force & Why It Matters in Running

Every time your foot hits the ground while running, the ground pushes back — this is called Ground Reaction Force (GRF). It’s the invisible force that plays a huge role in both performance and injury risk.

GRF has 3 key components:
✅ Vertical GRF – fights gravity and supports your body weight
✅ Anterior-Posterior GRF – helps with braking and propulsion
✅ Medio-Lateral GRF – manages side-to-side stability

Poorly managed GRF can contribute to:
❌ Stress fractures
❌ Plantar fasciitis
❌ Knee and hip pain

Optimising how your body handles GRF can:
✅ Improve running efficiency
✅ Prevent injury
✅ Support your rehab journey
