Cubex - Independent Hearing Healthcare Professionals since 1964 The Well Being BY CUBEX Established in 1964, Cubex is home to London’s highest standard of individualised audiological care and lifestyle wellness.

We believe that we are all unique and individual. However, there is one thing we all have in common, we are human and a large part of what makes us human is our social nature and desire to feel connected and alive. We all deserve to feel this. But life has a habit of throwing us all challenges that makes it difficult to experience our world the way we would like to especially with tinnitus and hearing loss. The important thing is how we choose to deal with it. At Cubex ,we are committed to helping individuals make positive lifestyle changes to overcome tinnitus, improve hearing and communication ability, restore balance and prevent hearing loss. Rather than one standard approach, we use a number of methods that work independently and intertwine to create a complete, tailored, human and individual solution.

What's going on inside your ear canal?

Most people have no idea until something feels off.
Blocked. Uncomfortable. Muffled. Unclear.

And even then, it’s often hard to know what’s normal, what isn’t, and when it needs professional attention.

This live Zoom session, 14th April at 12h45, will be hosted by our Founder and Senior Audiologist, Adam Shulberg - in conversation with a guest expert on ear canal care and professional micro-suction.

Join us for a practical, honest conversation. Clear, grounded, and free from jargon. Together, we’ll explore what’s really going on inside the ear canal, and how to care for yours safely and effectively.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Let your thoughts move without judgement.

And remember - you aren't your thoughts. You're the one noticing them.

This small pause creates space... inside that space, the mind is allowed to naturally settle.

Our Director of CALM, Jerusha Shulberg, explains how to cultivate mindfulness.

For individuals living with hearing impairment, mindfulness, meditation and rituals like this are helpful. They help calm feelings of stress and unease, unburdening the mind.

This is key because cognitively, a hearing impairment can make mental work extra hard, and that can be exhausting.

Our approach to care involves far more than hearing technology. We help you to adjust your response to life. This is what makes our clinic different.

Audiology in private practice barely existedin the Sixties.

We’ve come a long way - and have continued to develop a pioneering approach to ear care, cognitive support and building emotional resilience. This whole-person care helps people to live richer, fuller lives - and to stay in the conversation. Connecting meaningfully with others, while remaining calm and focused.

If you feel you might have hearing loss and need to talk, please book an appointment.

Our sessions are never rushed. Our audiologists prefer the idea of slow care - and will give you all the time you need.

Meditation doesn’t mean stopping your thoughts.
It’s about changing your relationship with them.

Here, Jerusha Shulberg explains: meditation doesn’t require a completely quiet or ‘blank’ mind. The mind is actually designed to think. Meditation simply teaches us not to cling to every thought that appears.

For many people experiencing hearing loss, tinnitus, stress or poor sleep, this shift can be profoundly helpful.

At The Well Being BY CUBEX, meditation is part of our CALM programme, supporting nervous system regulation, cognitive clarity and emotional balance.

Sometimes the most powerful change is learning to allow thoughts to just wash over the mind.

Your initial consultation is something we encourage partners or family members to join in.

Our approach creates a safe space for everyone impacted by an individual’s hearing impairment - allowing all to voice their thoughts and contribute to a solution and, ultimately, a successful care plan.

Our Founder and Senior Audiologist Adam Shulberg explains how we work. If you’re considering an evaluation of your hearing ability - or that of a spouse or family member - please book a Consultation & Discovery session with us. (Via link in bio).

We’ll treat you and yours with exceptional personal care - and spend unrushed time in diagnosing and treating your specific needs.

Sleep is one of the foundations of wellbeing. Yet for many people, it’s easily disrupted.

Traffic outside the window.
A partner who snores.
Late-night city sounds.
Early morning activity.

Even small disturbances can prevent the brain from settling into the deeper stages of sleep where real restoration happens.

A simple solution many people find helpful is ear protection designed specifically for comfort during sleep.

Recently, BBC GoodFood tested earplugs and highlighted Happy Ears for their excellent noise reduction and thoughtful design - something our audiologists at The Well Being BY CUBEX are very happy to echo.

Their unique oval shape mirrors the natural ear canal, making them easy to insert and comfortable to wear.

As BBC GoodFood noted:
“Their unique shape makes them easy to insert directly over the ear canal with no awkward overspill — a big win when you’re half asleep.”

While many people love them for sleep, we also often recommend Happy Ears for:

• Hyperacusis (sound sensitivity)
• Flying and travel
• Swimming
• Everyday noise protection

They’re available from our online shop — or visit us in Marylebone and pick up a pair or three. 👂

Some of our patients have been with us since our foundation years,
going as far back as the Sixties.

In some instances, we’re seeing the children and grandchildren of our early clients.

Reputation is everything.

Are mushroom supplements really safe?

Yes, 100% - when they’re organic, clinically researched, and transparently sourced.

What to look for:
• organic cultivation
• rigorous 3rd party testing
• transparent sourcing
• dual-extraction formulations

Not all nootropics are potent, premium formulations. Take care, choose well.

The calming effect of meditation.
It's real.
Easy to get.
And free - whenever you have a moment.

Jerusha Shulberg explains:

Mediation brings the mind back to the present moment, and allows moments and opportunities for the mind and body to reach deeper levels of rest.

As the body starts to rest, the mind follows by quietening down and softening.

In these moments, what we’re actually doing is regulating our nervous system - this lowers cortisol levells, reduces heart rate and creates a calming effect.

Better hearing isn’t about ‘louder, more amplified’ sound - though that's part of it.

It’s about clarity, and being able to follow conversations in noisy places. Crucially, it’s also about confidence, ease, a sense of belonging and connection.

Aspects of life that a hearing impairment can affect quite profoundly.
And yes, cognitive health and hearing ability are closely linked. Another important reason to address hearing loss.

If you’ve been over-compensating without realising it, you shouldn’t have to 'learn to live with it’.

A hearing test can be the first simple step back to yourself.
‘I feel as though I’ve got my life back’ - often said by our clientele - is no exaggeration.

Your brain has to work so much harder when your hearing declines. It’s true, hearing loss and cognitive function go together. Studies show that those who use hearing technology for age-related hearing loss are less likely to develop dementia-type illnesses in later life.
