Cold feet, painful that stop you in your tracks. Struggling to conceive. β„οΈπŸŒΏ
In TCM, these aren't three separate problems β€” they're one body asking for warmth, nourishment and flow.
I've recently treated quite a few young women who came in for painful periods and left understanding why their feet were always cold, why their blood came out dark and clotted.
It all points to one root pattern. β„οΈβž‘οΈπŸ”₯

❄️ Cold feet. Painful periods that stop you in your tracks. Struggling to conceive. 🌿
In TCM, these aren't three separate problems β€” they're one body asking for warmth, nourishment and flow.
I've recently treated young women who came in for painful periods and left understanding why their feet were always cold, why their blood came out dark and clotted, and why their body wasn't holding a pregnancy.
It all points to one root pattern.

🌿 We are in lovely, vibrant Spring, it is the season of the liver in TCM β€” and green is its colour

In Chinese medicine, Spring belongs to the Wood element: the energy of growth, upward movement, and renewal. The Liver- organ associated with Wood, governs the smooth flow of energy Qi through the body.

When we eat with the season, we support that flow.

Here are some spring greens to bring to your table:

πŸ₯¬ dandelion greens β€” bitter, cooling, a classic liver tonic
🌱 pea shoots β€” sweet and uplifting, gentle on digestion
πŸ«› asparagus β€” moves stagnation, warms the body
πŸƒ spinach β€” nourishes blood, calms the liver’s rising heat
🌿 fresh coriander β€” disperses qi, supports detox pathways
πŸ₯’ courgette β€” neutral, moistening, easy on the digestive qi
🫘 edamame β€” tonifies the spleen, a grounding source of plant protein

keep it simple β€” a light stir-fry, or a green congee. The liver loves sour too, so a squeeze of lemon over everything goes a long way.

Eat green, move gently, let things rise. 🌱

Your subconscious is always working behind the scenes to keep you safe 🀍
But when we let it run the show, we can get stuck in constant fight-or-flight.

It takes conscious effort to slow down, be present, and notice the good that already exists in our lives. To zoom out and see the bigger picture. To let go.

Mindfulness and breathwork aren’t just trendsβ€”they’re powerful, science-backed practices that can actually shift your brain chemistry and support your whole body.

Small, gentle moments can create real change.

Have you tried it yet? ✨

Plant-based eating with a little TCM wisdom 🌿 This simple rice bowl topped with aduki beans is one of my favourite TCM-inspired meals β€” nourishing, grounding, and so good for the body from the inside out.
Aduki beans are little powerhouses πŸ’« They clear dampness, reduce swelling & fluid retention, clear heat and toxins, support the Spleen & Kidneys, and tonify the Blood. Yes, all of that in one humble bowl πŸ™
All you need:
πŸ₯’ Courgette, mushrooms, spinach
🍚 Rice
🧈 Ghee
🫘 Overnight soaked aduki beans
🌿 Bay leaf & marjoram, herbs of choice
πŸ§‚ Pinch of salt
✨ Optional: toasted seeds or gomasio (black sesame salt) and linseed oil
How to make it:
1️⃣ Soak Β½ cup aduki beans overnight, rinse, then cook with 2 cups of water, a pinch of salt, bay leaf & marjoram or other herbs for 40–60 mins until soft
2️⃣ Cook rice using a 1:2 ratio of rice to water
3️⃣ SautΓ© your vegetables in ghee until tender
4️⃣ Layer it all up and top with beans & toasted seeds
πŸ’‘ Tip: Cook a bigger batch of beans and use the rest to make a brownie! 🍫
That’s it. Simple and nourishing . ✨
