Job Opportunities: Full time Driver/Support Worker required
Person Specification:
As a Makai Care Ltd support worker in the Berkshire area to provide confidential, non-judgemental Domiciliary Care, and emotional support to individuals.
You will provide personal care, light House duties, shopping, transport to and from appointments, e.g. hospital, GP, Dentist, etc. ensuring the individual needs are being met. Makai Care Ltd online services, available to individuals
Training will be provided for developing a person-centred approach to 1:1 sessions, based on the individuals needs and involvement of safe planning and using own choices, depending on what is suitable. The support worker will provide empathy, supportive reassurance, compassion and allow the individual to be listened to fully, while maintaining a safe, respectful environment. The support worker will approach sessions in a way that is inclusive and accepting of individual values, culture, religion, abilities and sexual orientation, in compliance with equal opportunities polices and legislation.
Due to the nature of Makai Care Ltd work, the postholder will work with awareness of safeguarding policies, ensuring adherence to best practice, policies and procedures, following Makai Care Ltd policies at all times. This includes upholding confidentially and awareness of up to date policies. Following a session, recorded notes will be processed and training will be provided to ensure confidentially and safety of these notes remain, in accordance with GDPR legislation. Computer work will be required for this.
Overall, general knowledge, understanding and passion of Domiciliary Care and societal challenges experienced throughout the Berkshire would be beneficial and knowledge of Makai Care Ltd values and aims.
Level 2 or 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care or training relates is desirable, along with experience of working in 1:1 support settings. Knowledge of current legislation that underpins health and social care and mental health. Full induction and training will also be provided, along with regular supervision and attending a monthly team meeting. Effective communication and active listening skills is essential, able to take proactive and solution-focused decisions quickly and using own initiative. A full, clean UK driving licence and record currently and maintained.
