A great podcast
・・・
Thank you for sharing your story and discussing pelvic health physiotherapy. It was a pleasure to treat you. A hypertonic pelvic floor can present in many different ways and it is so important to spread the awareness for women that pelvic health physiotherapist can help. what a fantastic podcast with such a need to highlight and spread the awareness for women.

Emma story: “ I did not know what my pelvic floor was when I was wandering around the supermarket knowing something was very wrong with me. And I just couldn’t make it better no matter what I tried. I felt like I was going mad too. Like was it in my head?

Unlike most new mums with pelvic floor problems - I had the opposite issue. Mine was too tense. Hypertonic if you want to get fancy and proper.

And it drove me wild. I’ve never spoken about it before nor the physio I ended up having (which saved me) but I have done so today on the latest episode of this very clever and important podcast

I’ve done so in the hope it helps someone. Anyone.
I genuinely thought I was imagining it this awful tense feeling I couldn’t relax.
I wish this pod had been about then. Thank you Helen for making it asking me on and helping women learn things we should have been taught already. In France women’s physio is a normal part of postnatal care and recovery. It isn’t in the U.K.
Most women don’t even know women’s physios exist. Never mind how to to access them.

The worst part? Fearing I would never be “normal” again. Still working on that bit.

How about you?

Hello 2021. It has been a difficult few months for everyone especially for my patients and new mothers. I wanted to say hi 🙋🏻‍♀️ to some new followers and I hope you are all keeping safe & well.🙌🏻 I have been gratefully busy over the last few months working on some exciting new projects🙏 and launching a new power system for mothers with . Joining and leading the pelvic health team in Parsons Green.

A little update for my new followers: My clinic caseload in London covers a broad spectrum of pelvic health conditions and I have a special interest in pelvic floor disorders, s*xual dysfunction & pre &post-natal recovery for mothers. I also treats women with endometriosis, pelvic, back, pelvic and coccyx pain during pregnancy.

So what exactly is en-doe-me- trio- sis? ‼️‼️
Tissue similar to the lining of the uterus is found in & around the pelvis, attaching to organs & the spaces between including the uterus, bladder, ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterosacral ligaments & peritoneum (it can also involve other parts like your bowels, intestines, re**um & appendix). Every month the tissue bleeds, like a period, except the blood has nowhere to go, so it stays there causing inflammation & pain.‼️Sometimes the disease can stick organs together or form cysts on the ovaries. Symptoms can include pelvic pain, excessive bleeding, fatigue, back & leg ache, nausea, pain during/after s*x. Some women have symptoms only during menstruation, but others may have them more often.

Theeee wonderful ⚠️💥has written a book 📚 about living with it, just having had almost a dozen surgeries for it, 🙏but the biggest thing she’s learnt is that it’s never too late to try something to alleviate the symptoms. ⚠️💥🙌🏻

“After many years of looking I have found a pelvic health physio , who has tailored her treatment approach to ENDO with stretches , advice and manual therapy. Go back to basics sometimes. 🤗
All heroes wear capes- sometimes they wear leggings & push you to do stretches you don’t want to do!” This one is Irish ☘️
“ Try something different “
