Our council members have been busy! 💼✨
Last week, Dr Zoe Burton represented us alongside CPOC and SOBA, at an event hosted by the Obesity Health Alliance, playing a key role in shaping the discussion on the “sickness and prevention” elements of the 10-year plan.
Her contributions helped drive the conversation on how these crucial aspects of the strategy can be implemented in practice.
A huge thank you to Dr Burton for her leadership and for championing the interests of children’s perioperative care in national health discussions. 👏💙

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the death of Dr Mark Thomas, former consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital, who led us as APAGBI President from 2021 to 2023. Mark was a passionate advocate for paediatric anaesthesia and a thoughtful, dedicated leader. His contributions to our specialty and his warmth as a colleague will be profoundly missed. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who knew him.
