✨ We’re delighted to announce that the PaedIatric caNcelation ratEs And PerioPerative clinicaL Evaluation (PINEAPPLE) study 🍍 has been published in the current issue of Pediatric Anaesthesia!
https://www.apagbi.org.uk/news/latest-news/post/31-pineapple-study-published-in-pediatric-anesthesia
PINEAPPLE is a PATRN and APAGBI collaborative 🇬🇧 prospective multi-centre observational cohort study, highlighting the importance of paediatric pre-operative assessment — particularly its role in reducing anxiety and potentially lowering on-the-day cancellations due to intercurrent illness.
We hope this work sparks further conversations and development in paediatric pre-assessment services 🚀
🙏 Huge thanks to all contributors and participating centres — your collaboration makes paediatric anaesthetic research possible.

Our council members have been busy! 💼✨
Last week, Dr Zoe Burton represented us alongside CPOC and SOBA, at an event hosted by the Obesity Health Alliance, playing a key role in shaping the discussion on the “sickness and prevention” elements of the 10-year plan.
Her contributions helped drive the conversation on how these crucial aspects of the strategy can be implemented in practice.
A huge thank you to Dr Burton for her leadership and for championing the interests of children’s perioperative care in national health discussions. 👏💙
