Drink enough water – your stress levels depend on it!
A new study (https://www.pexels.com/photo/close-up-of-woman-drinking-water-with-lemon-through-a-straw-8957497/) found that people who drink less than 1.5 liters of water per day had a 50% higher rise in the stress hormone cortisol when faced with challenges, compared to those who were well-hydrated.
Why? Even mild dehydration increases vasopressin, a hormone that pushes cortisol levels higher. High cortisol over time is linked with problems like heart disease, diabetes, and depression.
The takeaway is simple: staying well-hydrated every day isn’t just good for your body, it also helps your mind cope better with stress.
Keep a bottle of water with you — your brain (and your body) will thank you!
