With deep joy and respect, we celebrate today the birthday of His Holiness the 42nd Kyabgon Gongma Trizin, Ratna Vajra Rinpoche 🌺🙏

Born on 19 November 1974 in Dehradun, India 🇮🇳, His Holiness is the eldest son of His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin and a principal holder of the noble Khön lineage of the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Enthroned as the 42nd Sakya Trizin in March 2017, he continues to uphold and transmit the profound teachings of the Dharma with wisdom, compassion, and tireless dedication 🌏✨.

Lama Jampa Thaye returns to London to offer a teaching on ‘The King of Aspirations’—an ancient and wondrous prayer, first voiced by Samantabhadra in the Avatamsaka Sutra.

Join us for a teaching that connects us directly with the deep and profound intentions of a bodhisattva—a teaching that connects us to the roots of lasting happiness.

🙏 Lha Bab Düchen – Today, 11 November 2025 🙏

Today we celebrate Lha Bab Düchen, one of the four great Buddhist festivals commemorating the Buddha’s descent from the Tush*ta Heaven realm. 🌸

According to tradition, the Buddha had ascended to help and teach his mother, Queen Māyā Devi, who had been reborn in the god-realm, and later a ladder of precious materials was built by the gods so that he could safely descend.

On this most auspicious day, the effects of all positive and negative actions are said to be multiplied ten million times. ✨

Buddhist teaching on The King of Aspiration Prayer. Booking is now open!
📍 REGENT’S UNIVERSITY, LONDON
📅 SATURDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 🕰️ 10:30AM
Radiant with the spirit of boundless compassion, The King of Aspirations is a powerful expression of the bodhisattva’s path, first voiced by the great bodhisattva Samantabhadra at the conclusion of the magnificent Avatamsaka Sutra.
Treasured as one of the Five Royal Sutras, this heartfelt prayer has become one of the most widely practised texts in Tibetan and East Asian Buddhism-and its inspiring message is now increasingly embraced in the West.
Lama Jampa will present this timeless teaching through the elegant commentary of the 19th-century master Drakpa Gyaltsen, a devoted student of the great Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, offering us a precious opportunity to connect with the profound aspirations of the bodhisattva heart.
In the afternoon Lama Jampa will bestow the initiation of Sanjay Menla (Medicine Buddha), the buddha of healing and one of the beloved deities of Buddhism. His practice heals the suffering of the disease whose root cause is greed, hatred and delusion. It is said that to just hear his name will clear away obscurations and can overcome mental, physical and spiritual sickness. This initiation is from the lineage of Shantaraksh*ta and Atisha.

Today is the anniversary of the great Bengali master Atisha! (Atiśa Dīpankara Śrījñāna, 982–1054), an extraordinarily important figure in Buddhist History.

Please enjoy an excellent YouTube video, which we have added to our stories - in it, Lama Jampa Thaye
recounts Atisha’s life and describes his role in the revitalisation of Buddhism in Tibet.
