📖 Reminder: Bodhicaryāvatāra Study Group – This Saturday

This Saturday 17 January, 2:00–4:00 pm, we meet in person to continue our study of the Bodhicaryāvatāra, A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life.

These sessions are for those who attended Lama Jampa Thaye’s teachings on the text, or who received the Bodhicaryāvatāra on another auspicious occasion. Together, we review the sections taught last summer and deepen our shared understanding as we prepare to continue when the teachings resume next year.

A Rare Blessing for London — Visit of Kyabgon Gongma Trichen and Kyabgon Gongma Trizin

This rare and precious occasion will bring together the 41st and 43rd throne holders of Sakya, offering a living expression of the unbroken continuity of the lineage through initiations and blessings.

✨🌸 Celebrating the Anniversary of Chogyal Phakpa 🌸✨

Today we honour the life and legacy of Chogyal Phakpa Lodrö Jätsun, one of the five founding masters of the Sakya tradition. Born in 1235 in Sakya into the Khön lineage, he embodied deep wisdom, compassion, and a lifelong dedication to both study 🧠📖 and practice 🧘‍♂️🙏.

As imperial preceptor to Kublai Khan, Chogyal Phakpa helped foster a meaningful connection between Tibetan Buddhism and the Mongol court, championed religious freedom 🕊️, and offered wise guidance that continues to inspire many today.

May his blessings guide us in deepening our practice, cultivating kindness, and actualising the teachings in our daily lives. 🌼

✨📚 At the end of December, students travelled from across the UK, Europe, and the Americas 🌍 to Manchester to receive four days of profound and joyful teachings 🙏 from Lama Jampa Thaye.

With clarity, precision, and warmth ✨, Lama Jampa explained the first of four volumes of The Gateway to Knowledge 📖 — a remarkable compendium by Mipham Rinpoche.

This year’s Shedra also coincided with the 50th anniversary of Dechen Manchester 🎉🪷

During the holiday period at the end of December 2025, Dechen Manchester Kagyu Ling Buddhist Centre was fortunate to host Lama Jampa, together with his family, for four days of profound and joyful teachings.

🪷 Today we pay tribute to Sakya Pandita on the anniversary of his passing. 🙏
He was one of the most renowned 13th-century Tibetan spiritual masters and scholars of the Sakya tradition.

📜 Sakya Pandita was a realised master and one of Tibet’s most influential scholars, who ensured the Buddha’s teachings were preserved and passed down in their pure form for future generations.

📖✨ Through his profound scholarship, he helped shape the Sakya tradition by clearly explaining the Buddha’s teachings and showing how study and meditation belong together. It is through his dedication, compassion, and wisdom that we are still able to receive the authentic Dharma today.

🕯️ May the fearless clarity of his understanding cut through confusion and guide our minds toward genuine awakening. 🌿
