Thank you for the visual of the message I tell all my patients all day every day!

Consistent small changes lead to big changes.

This is true in everything, especially when it comes to the body, give it the stimulus and the time to adapt and it will.

Happy weekend friends! The past two weeks have been jammed back and I’ve barely had time to get my movement in let a lone post about it. 🤦‍♀️ SORRY.

But towards the end of the week I made it a priority and got some nice morning walks, a few mid-day yoga snacks ((thanks )) and even a gym session! 💪

It was a nice reminder that life can happen and we can still do what’s best for us, maybe stress is high so working out is low.

The 🔑 is most of the time for comfort and pain, small frequent movement is the important part.

❤️Yes we need cardio and strength training for our heart, lungs and joints long term- but 1-2 weeks is ok.

👉Don’t forget that some standing, walking, grocery shopping, taking the stairs, or 5 minutes of yoga is still better than nothing!

Especially in a week that’s especially challenging! 🥵

🤞🤞Hoping we all have a fun and restful weekend 💤

HAPPY Friday Flow day🎉🍷

Here’s your reminder that you don’t always have to work harder.

👉Sometimes it’s OK to just take it easy and move a little bit. Focus in an area that’s stiff, keep it slow and within the comfortable you can control.

Most of the patients that I see, don’t give themselves enough recovery 💤 between hard sessions or hard runs and then end up overworking a tendon or muscle.

📚It’s recommended to have an offload week every 6 to 8 weeks or just make sure that you’re progressing slowly.

🧠I like to do the same thing for at least two weeks before I go up in weight or up in time/distance.

My neck and upper back were the focus in this session! Where’s your tightness?

Now it’s time for drinks with friends!🍷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

💜💜Ooo I love planks 💜💜

They make you feel strong and capable and they’re a great full body exercise!

Unfortunately they can be done incorrectly, so here are a few things I think about to maintain good form:
🤍Neck long to prevent dropping the head
🤍Shoulders down to prevent shrugging
🤍Push the floor away to keep chest lifted and upper back engaged
🤍Lower abs on
🤍 Use the legs, knee straight and Glutes squeezed
🤍Breathe!

Happy weekend! I hope your weekend is filled with ☀️☀️ (literally or figuratively)

🤍I know I’m getting busier, and as the diary fills, don’t forget your health and well-being are important too.

👉The email can wait 10 minutes while you get some movement. You can meet the friend another day to get your workout/run/cycle/flow/meditation in.

Your health does impact your day to day life and the longevity of your life so it should be near the top of your priority list EVERYDAY.
