Immune boosting shots - the first winter flu has hit our household, so while taking care of the coughing germ distributor, I thought it would be good to protect my own health and also smuggle some immune system support into his juice.
This one contains ginger, turmeric root and garlic for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, oranges and lemons for vitamin C, apples for quercitin (good against lung restriction) and carrots for vitamin A.
When serving, add a teaspoon of olive oil and some ground black pepper for polyphenols and better absorption.
Keeps in a closed glass bottle in the fridge for a few days or freeze in ice cube tray for portion sized shots.
