Worth thinking about if you’re tempted to sandbag in some extra pounds before starting on aggressive New Years resolutions.

For the record I’m very pro goal setting. Very pro New Years resolutions. A lot of people are successful despite a lower percentage success rate by virtue of the sheer number who try. January changes lives every year. Some people will be successful making big wholesale changes too.

But starting out with a food and alcohol binge taking the form of several days of total free for all, isn’t a winning strategy. People treat this as the last supper. The last time they get to enjoy these things before trying to commit to extreme restrictions. We know this seldom works in practice. Life gets stressful or someone just isn’t equipped with the environment or skills to successfully navigate such an aggressive attempt.

Try not to dig a deeper hole that’s harder to climb out of. Enjoy the holiday season and set sustainable goals for the coming year. Go in with a manageable plan and begin to shape your environment to set you up for success.

, a football coach, (or soccer coach as our friends on the other side of the world like to say) his goal was to gain muscle mass and eventually compete in a physique show.

We got to work and devised a plan that worked with him and his lifestyle. Training in the gym and following the workouts I had written up and with continuous feedback and support he managed to change his physique. This allowed him to be more disciplined in other areas of his life.

He furthered his career and is also now a qualified teacher.

Was this easy?
No, but if you are willing to put the work in it can be achieved!

How long did it take?
Its irrelevant as each person is different. (But this wasn't achieved in 6 months!)

How did he achieve this?
He achieved this through food that is easily available to you and I from the supermarket, sticking to his macros set out by myself, going to the gym and working out and making sure his health stayed at its best.

Whats the point of achieving a X amout of weight loss or gain if your body doesn't move and function like its meant to and pain free!?
