📣 Over the past few weeks, we’ve been using the Symphony Hearing Roger Room Kit from Symphony Sound and the difference it’s made has been incredible! 👂💬❤️

It’s helped our residents and their families communicate more easily and fully enjoy our activities together. We’ve even had guest speakers using this during their sessions in the home and thanks to this amazing equipment, everyone could take part, hearing word for word and understanding what was being discussed, no one left out🌟

Seeing the joy, connection, and engagement it’s brought to people who would normally isolate themselves due to loss/hard of hearing has been truly heartwarming. Thank you to the Symphony team for making such a big impact in our home! 👏

We also had the great pleasure of meeting one of the Directors /Owner Nisha Sebastian - Price of Symphony Sounds who joined us in this months Relatives Hub to share information on this and the other services they provide. And Thank you to Pritesh Nathwani (Director) for his ongoing support/guidance in using this technology and welcoming feedback❤️

Safer Places Domestic Abuse Support Services

Today is International Day of Charity - a time to celebrate the incredible causes that bring people together.

This year, our homes have proudly supported:

✨ The Care Workers' Charity, raising funds at our Internal Awards event in July
☕ The Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation with Nayland House Care Home's Tea 4 Tom
🎁 Safer Places Domestic Abuse Support Services, through the upcoming raffle at Bullsmoor Lodge
🍰 And coming up in September, some of our homes will be hosting a Macmillan Cancer Support to raise even more for a great cause

🐦✨ We had a lovely visit from Performing Pets, who brought along an amazing display of birds for everyone to enjoy!

Our residents especially loved seeing the budgies — a firm favourite and a nostalgic nod to the days when almost every household had one. 🐥

We also met the delightful Jack the Cockatiel and the colourful Shrek the Indian Ringneck Parrot — both stars in their own right! 🌟

The visit brought back so many wonderful memories, and we had a great time sharing all the names of our beloved budgies from over the years — from Pretty Boy and Georgie to Sweetheart and beyond. 💬💛

Thank you, Performing Pets, for such a joyful and heartwarming experience! 🐦💫

🌸 Farewell & Congratulations Kim 🌸

Today we say a heartfelt goodbye to our wonderful colleague Kim, who joined us 2 years ago under sponsorship. In that time, she has shown nothing but dedication, thoughtfulness, and hard work in everything she does.

Kim has now successfully passed her UK exam and will be continuing her journey as a registered nurse in the NHS and we know they are truly lucky to have her! 💙

She will be very much missed by residents, families, and the whole team, but we couldn’t be prouder of all she has achieved. Wishing you every success in this exciting new chapter, Kim! 🌟👩‍⚕️💐

Our residents do love a little tipple of their favourite drink – whether it’s a cheeky gin with a giggle, a smooth vodka and vocals session, a classic lager shandy, or a nice cold Guinness. Just like they would enjoy in the comfort of their own home, it’s all about good company, familiar flavours, and a touch of cheer. 🍷🍺🍹
