Elisha May - Massage Therapy

Elisha May - Massage Therapy Massage Therapy, Myofascial Release and Reflexology Elisha is an Integrated Myofascial Therapist, Massage Therapist and Reflexologist.

She loves helping people find relief from their aches and pains, both short term persistent pain, and enjoys getting them back to doing what they like quickly and for the long term. She enjoys helping people with their body's journey to increased well being. Elisha treats a variety of clients from sports people and musicians through to office professionals, who spend hours sitting in front of a computer for a living, as well as post-surgery and pregnant women. She really loves this work, developing a relationship with an expectant mother and helping them through the whole pregnancy. Elisha has clients who are on their second and third pregnancies with her as their therapist. They have treatments right through the pregnancy and continue after the baby is born. She trained at the London College of Massage in 2004, the London School of Reflexology in 2007 and gained an advanced Clinical Diploma with Myofascial Release UK in 2017. She is constantly learning new therapies and techniques and attends numerous workshops and courses to update skills and techniques. From an early age Elisha became interested in Massage and Body work as she benefitted from receiving them. As a child she suffered from back pain, and 12 years old she began having Chiropractic and Osteopathic treatments. Shortly after, she discovered massage and found this a great therapy for her muscle pain and general well-being. Before becoming a Massage Therapist Elisha worked in an office and found that regular massage really helped relieve the stiffness and neck and back pain from being sat behind a computer for hours on end every day. This personal knowledge got her interested in massage therapy as a profession, and so she decided to study to become a Massage Therapist. Elisha then learned Pregnancy Massage in 2005. Elisha became interested in Reflexology, which is a non-intrusive therapy based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond with different areas and organs of the body. She finds this fascinating and loves how powerful a reflexology session can be. She came across Myofascial release, a therapy that provides an opportunity for the client to function better with increased movement efficiency and loved it. She then studied this to add to her skill set and gained an advanced Clinical Diploma with Myofascial Release UK. Elisha tailors every massage to her client’s specific, individual needs. She will ask them what their problem areas are and what their end goal is from the treatment. Depending on what is needed, she will either work on specific problems or holistically for general health and wellbeing. She finds it so rewarding when she can help people in these areas and looks forward to helping many more. CLIENT TESTIMONIALS:

"I have always found Elisha to be reliable, kind, patient and very punctual and pleasant to deal with and would warmly recommend her." Barenda 78

"I work in an office, coach people, read karmic astrology charts and write for some online publications. This kind of work requires me to sit, type and talk to other people for long periods of time. Often my back, finger, shoulder and neck become incredibly tight, tense and in pain. Sometimes, I find that exercise and movement isn’t enough and I need something more therapeutic. I have tried a number of different techniques. As a spiritual person, I am into energy and vibes plus open minded to anything, as long as it works. I haven’t really found anything that helps me as much as others say it will. Just recently, I tried Myofascial Release with Elisha May. This has been the best therapy for muscles I have ever experienced. It was an extraordinary experience that I would go back to. It took away more stress, pain and tension than any other method and Elisha is incredibly talented. It can go quite deep into relieving tension and may hit on old issues, sometime emotional, but it’s never painful. I plan on going back and would encourage you to experience Elisha’s gift of healing." Matt Taylor, 41, astrologer and coach. "Elisha is honestly the best masseuse I've ever been to. I often have back and neck trouble as I work in an office all day, and she always manages to directly locate the point of the pain and work through it. I go to Elisha once a month now, and I've no longer got on going problems. She's awesome, but I really don't want too many people to find out about her!!!"

'As a marathon runner in my fifties, massage has become a vital component in keeping me injury free and Elisha has played an important role in my success in completing many races over the years. She does not have a 'one fits all' policy but listens and tailors her masage according to ones individual needs. She works on specific problem areas, gives sound advice, encouragement and practical help. I think that I have been through so many 'ups' and 'downs' with her that I have come to count her as a friend. I have no hesitation in recommending her as a massage therapist. Her method is not a mere 'pampering' tool but absolutely essential in keeping me on the road and helping me to be the athlete I want to
be.'

'I've been having massage therapy with Elisha for over six years now and can only sing praises for her professionalism and treatment capability. During a particular difficult year of severe chronic back pain, Elisha connected with both my Osteopath and Pain Specialist to ensure that the correct complementary treatments were given. This was incredibly helpful considering the emotional strain of dealing with chronic pain. Elisha still continues to assess the muscular condition of my back at each treatment and is always forthcoming with tips or relevant lifestyle changes to ensure a healthy mind and body. I would highly recommend Elisha to anyone requiring massage or reflexology therapy.'

'My wife and I have been clients of Elisha for over 2 years. Apart from her professional abilities, she is utterly reliable and a pleasure to have in our home.'
Bruce Bossom

'Elisha is a wonderful massage therapist who is incredibly professional, very reliable, knowledgeable in her field, always positive and incredibly kind. Her treatments leave me in high spirits, and I would recommend her to everyone that I know. She helped me relieve my RSI pains in my shoulders, neck and arms, and I will always be eternally grateful to her! Did I also mention that she's a wonderful human being? You can't help but love her!'
Dana Landman

'Hurrah! A fan page for us to gush about how fantastic you are :) Elisha is the only person in all the years that has actually managed to fix my back pain. So much so, I had no qualms about recommending her to my employers. We all now look forward to seeing her monthly. She's multi talented in that she can massage you differently depending on the problem or mood - not a one trick pony. In case you can't tell, I highly recommend her...'

Some lovely testimonials from my clients that have been put onto our clinic reviews: what lovely words.

After having two major operations I can't thank Elisha May and the clinic team enough. Everyone has been incredibly kind and supportive before and after surgery and made recovery a lot easier.

Excellent, friendly multi-disciplinary holistic practice. I particularly appreciate myofascial release massage with Elisha and chiropractic treatment from Francesca. They both keep me moving and I strongly recommend them and their colleagues.

I can’t recommend Islington chiropractic clinic enough! The team are amazing and a special mention to Elisha who is the best massage therapist I have ever used! She always manages to find those problem areas and I always feel amazing after a massage with her. Thanks Elisha!

I've been seeing Elisha for massage for more than a year now, and I highly recommend her. I exercise a lot and work a desk job, so that combination means I usually need constant work on my neck, shoulders, and back. I'd suggest anyone who needs massage services head over to this clinic and visit Elisha, you won't be disappointed!

Elisha May is a cross between a massage therapist and a magician, able to divine the source of pain or physical imbalance and spirit it away, and ever responsive to whatever new challenge or mood you bring to her. High recommended.

I visit London quite frequently and first on my 'to do' list is an appointment to see Elisha who is an amazing therapist. She listens to her clients and has huge knowledge and is very empathetic. Not only does she sort my back and neck issues but I also come away with practical tips on how to maintain a healthier lifestyle. Highly recommended.

I thought I knew what a massage was but I was wrong. Working from home during Covid without a dedicated work station left me with aches and pains and poor posture. My first massage was life changing. It helped alleviate my tension and knots and also helped with lymphatic draining. My massage therapist Elisha has magic hands. The overall condition of my body has improved and now, I can’t do without my monthly massage.

Elisha is a fabulous masseur. She works with sensitivity from her own embodied experience (of physical pain) and extensive knowledge of the body. She also listens carefully to what her clients' individual needs are. I have always felt lighter, more flexible and very relaxed after her massages.

I have been seeing Elisha for years to help with my back and neck problems. She always knows how to find the exact spot that is causing me grief. I really appreciate her sincerity in listening to my concerns and investigating what is really going on with my body. If I were smart, I would have a standing weekly appointment.

Elisha has helped me with a few minor injuries and getting back fighting fit. She gave me some great advice and has a wealth of knowledge. Also just a generally all round nice person. I would recommend a visit. You wont be disappointed

This is a Reflexology chat, one oglf the treatments I offer.
Reflexology is a non- invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing; by reducing stress in people's lives can be key in optimising good health and building resilience. It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points on the feet correspond with different areas of the body and reflexologists work these points and areas.

A great article about peri/menopause and plantar (foot pain), this is a very common thing. I started suffering from this myself and have now got on top of it.

The plantar fascia is known as the ‘spring ligament’ for a reason and is impacted by a drop in oestrogen levels during menopause. Learn more on the blog!

A really great article about the fascia. This is what I work with in my body work practice as well as massage. I really love this work with the fascia, it's incredible.

Fasciae, hidden connective tissues, are largely unstudied parts of our anatomy. What role do they play in the organism? And could a better understanding of them help in finding a cure for back pain?
