Last night, we welcomed one of the world’s leading autism researchers, Simon Baron-Cohen, to deliver our annual Jephcott Lecture.

💬“Autism is a disability that begins prenatally but is often diagnosed later, in childhood or beyond. It is largely, though not entirely, genetic – my lecture focuses on the non-genetic, hormonal factors and explores why there has been a significant increase in autism prevalence.”

🔎Simon’s lecture comes at a critical time amid growing public attention on autism – particularly around rising diagnosis rates, greater awareness, and evolving scientific understanding.

We’ll be sharing key insights from this evidence-based lecture soon ➡️ follow us to be notified when they’re released.

Health inequalities in England are systemic, avoidable and progress has stalled.

As the NHS undergoes one of the most significant periods of change in a generation, the need for stable, trusted spaces where industry, NHS leaders, patients and clinicians can work together has never been greater.

📜 The Royal Society of Medicine is proud to introduce the Community for Health Equity (CHE) – a nine-month programme convening NHS leaders, healthcare industry, patients, clinicians and the third sector to build shared understanding and co-create practical solutions to health inequalities in England.

The RSM provides a neutral space where organisations across sectors can engage openly, aligned to the NHS framework and with a clear view to lasting, scalable impact.

The 2026 programme is already underway, with nine half-day sessions exploring themes including:

📅 7 Jan: Reaching the Unreached
📅 4 Feb: Implementing the NHS 10-Year Plan
📅 4 Mar: Connection Sprint: Stakeholder Matchmaking
📅 14 Apr: The Business Case for Health Equity
📅 6 May: Trust, Trustworthiness and Support
📅 3 Jun: Creating New Pathways with Health Innovation
📅 1 Jul: Health Equity through Regulation, Education and Funding
📅 9 Sep: Sustainability and ESG in Health Equity
📅 7 Oct: Co-creation Workshops

Each session produces a report, co-developed with the Health Innovation Network, capturing insights and practical actions.

Reports are now available to read from the first two sessions:
