Dr Philip Barclay, Consultant Anaesthetist, Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer and Treasurer Elect for the Association of Anaesthetists, recently delivered the keynote lecture on at the East Midlands Conference on Critical Care. During the event, he was presented with the inaugural Professor Ravi P Mahajan Safety Medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution to patient safety.

The medal was awarded by Professor Ravi Mahajan Ravi P Mahajan CBE himself, who founded the Anaesthesia Liaison Group in 2008, an organisation that Dr Barclay now co-chairs.

Dr Barclay commented, “It was a real honour to receive the medal from Professor Mahajan, whose leadership in establishing the Safe Anaesthesia Liaison Group has been instrumental in promoting safer anaesthetic practice.”

Well done to Phillip on this incredible achievement.
