Measles spreads quickly and can be serious, so it’s important to make sure your child is protected.

Two doses of the MMR vaccine — given at 1 year and 3 years 4 months — provide long-lasting protection against measles, mumps and rubella.

If your child has missed a vaccination, contact your GP practice to catch up.

Adults who missed out in childhood can also have the MMR vaccine at any time.

Our governors and non-executive directors have been busy exploring different parts of our trust as part of our ‘go see’ programme of visits.

From seeing the da Vinci Xi robot in action at the Royal Free Hospital to touring Barnet Hospital’s new emergency department, the visits highlighted the skill, dedication and resilience of our staff working in high‑pressure environments.

A huge thanks to our teams for hosting the visits.💙

“I feel on top of the world.” ❤️

Neil, 64, from Barnet, was one of the first patients to be treated using new 3D heart mapping technology at Barnet Hospital.

The technology helps heart rhythm specialists pinpoint the source of abnormal electrical signals in the heart, allowing treatment to be delivered more precisely — often in a single procedure.

As Dr Daniel Keene, consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist explains in the video, the technology allows the team to “map with really high confidence exactly what’s going on”, helping them deliver targeted treatment for patients.

Cardiovascular care is a key focus for the Royal Free London. The introduction of 3D heart mapping at Barnet Hospital means more patients can receive specialist heart treatment closer to home.

Measles cases are rising fast in Enfield and across London.

❗ Measles spreads very easily and can make children — and adults — seriously unwell. Some people may need hospital care.

❗ Symptoms include a rash, fever, sore red eyes, a cough, sneezing, or a runny or blocked nose.

❗ The rash can be harder to see on brown skin. Check for spots inside the mouth or on the eyelids.

✅ If you or your child have missed an MMR dose, contact your GP practice to book a catch-up vaccination.

✅ GP evening and weekend appointments may be available — search online for “GP hubs” and your borough name.

✅ If your child is school-aged, find a local MMR catch-up clinic at:
schoolvaccination.uk/catch-up-clinics

✅ Feeling unwell or worried? Call NHS 111.
