A previous A+E Registrar, he passed AKT first time and came across road block with the SCA, failing it 3 times with marks getting worse.
We worked on a change in both atttitude and approach to the exam - challenging previous misconceptions.
The result - 30+ point increase

His Top Tips to Smashing the SCA
1. Know your place in the patient's narrative - learn to use the information in the notes on context
2. Be curious about LICEF not just ICE, but be invested in how a patient's life might be affected and how they might feel about the situation they finds themselves in
3. Ensure you readdress the patient's ICE as you move into clinical management
4. This is NOT A KNOWLEDGE BASED EXAM - readjust what you think you know
5. A E E | Dilemma - the glue that holds relating to others together
