Achieving weight loss isn't just about counting calories or cutting out food groups. It's about fueling your body with the right foods and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Here’s what I mean by the best foods for weight loss:

1. Nutrient-Dense Whole Foods: These include fruits, vegetables, and whole grains that provide essential vitamins, minerals, and fibre. They keep you full longer and support overall health.

2. Animal Protein: real meat, fish, eggs, and dairy provide high-quality protein that aids muscle repair and growth, essential for maintaining a high metabolism.

3. Healthy Fats: Avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil are critical for brain health and keeping you satisfied, helping you avoid overeating.

4. Homecooked Meals: Cooking at home allows you to control ingredients and portion sizes, ensuring you get a balanced and nutritious diet.

However, it’s important to note that weight loss and fat loss are different. The number on the scale doesn't always reflect your progress. Focus on reducing body fat while maintaining or gaining muscle mass for a healthier body composition.

To achieve effective fat loss, prioritise:

* Regular Structured Training: Incorporate both cardio and strength training into your routine to boost metabolism and build muscle.

* General Activity: Stay active throughout the day with simple activities like walking, taking the stairs, getting a standing desk to work.

* Good Sleep: make it your priority to aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to help regulate hormones and recovery.
