One of the greatest joys of being a mental health first-aid instructor is to work with organisations who are committed to improving their peoples mental health.

I have worked with Movember over the past few years as we rolled out mental health first-aid training across their teams, both here in the UK, and in Europe.

I feel really honoured to have been chosen by Movember to front this series ‘From the barbers chair’, especially to coincide with World Su***de Prevention Day.

Su***de is a male health emergency, men account for 75% of all suicides, but that still means we lose too many women too.

This video doesn’t have a magic answer, but if nothing else please ask if you think something isn’t right.

“How are you doing ?”

And if you don’t think you got the correct answer to that question ask again…

“No I meant how are you REALLY doing ?’
