Our prestigious Dhole-Eddlestone Memorial Prize has been awarded to a clinical trial assessing the safety and experience of transitions from hospital to home, published in our international clinical geriatrics journal, Age and Ageing. It emphasises the importance of involving older people in their own care and the decisions taken about their care.

NHS England has announced 9 conditions that will be the initial focus of a new online hospital service launching in England next year. Many of these conditions, including glaucoma and prostate enlargement, affect older people. We welcome the new service but highlight the need to ensure digital exclusion doesn’t create a two-tier service.
