August III by Biddy Bunzl is our Artwork of the Month for March 2026! This was chosen by attendees at our special World Lymphoedema Awareness Day event with St George's, Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Group and City St George’s, University of London.

Many of the attendees were drawn to the vibrant colours and bold shapes. One attendee commented on the abstract nature of the artwork, saying "you can look into the shapes and colours and translate it and make it your own". ⁠

We spotlight different artwork each month as part of our National Lottery Heritage Fund project - 'Our Hospital: conserving, curating and responding to St George's Art and Heritage Collection'.⁠

Team George's Barcelona Marathon Spotlight 🌞
Dan had a fantastic run at the Barcelona Marathon last Sunday. As a City St George’s University student and previous London Landmarks Half Marathon finisher, he continues to show real commitment and support to the charity. Thank you, and well done, Dan!

Craig, Ko, Ali, Myles and Kam also enjoyed a brilliant day, with four personal bests between them and an impressive £2,300 raised so far. Incredible effort from the team as Tooting locals - you all absolutely smashed it! 💪

Last Friday an incredible group of 28 Finton House School parents and 7 teachers took part in a 150 ft Abseil down the Pelican Hotel for St George's Hospital Charity.

A total of £25,000 was raised to support our Time for a Change Appeal which will help support the refurbishment of our children's wards.

Thank you so much to everyone who took part in this challenge and faced their fears for Team George's!

Last Tuesday we were so excited to host Community Kite Project to run a Sode Kite Making workshop as part of our Staff Arts Club!

Chris, who led the session, taught us all about the history of the kites, guided us through the process of making them using some traditional materials and graphics and then explained the best conditions for flying them!

Lymphoedema affects millions of people worldwide, yet it’s still widely misunderstood and often overlooked.

This World Lymphoedema Day, and as we begin Lymphoedema Awareness Month, long-standing supporters of St George’s lymphoedema research Adrian Rawlinson and Matt Hazledine, founder of LymphUnited, share their experiences of living with the condition and why raising awareness matters.

St George’s is an internationally recognised leader in lymphoedema research and clinical care. We’re proud to support the pioneering work taking place at City St George’s, University of London and St George's, Epsom and St Helier Hospitals Group to improve awareness, transform patient care and fund vital research.

Keep an eye out this month as we’ll be sharing more about lymphoedema – from treatments and patient stories, to the incredible work happening here at St George’s.
