We recently celebrated the opening of our new exhibition ‘Shifting the Lens: Layers of Us’ with a Pride Month social with the St George’s Hospital Trust’s LGBTQ+ Network.

The exhibition was co-curated with the Trust’s LGBTQ+ Network, with members working closely with Creative Heritage Resident Artist, Ruan Murphy. The curators selected artworks exploring themes of family, love, layers, gender, fluidity, conflict and duality and have written new interpretation to give their personal perspective on the artworks they selected together.

Ruan returned for the Pride Month Social, reflecting with the participants on the exhibition and creating collaged cards which represented them.
‘Shifting the Lens: Layers of Us’ can be found on the ground floor of Grosvenor Wing at St George’s Hospital.

This exhibition is part of ‘Our Hospital: conserving, curating and responding to St George’s Art and Heritage Collection’, our heritage project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

We are so grateful for all your support shown so far for the London to Brighton ride with Team George’s! 🙌

This artwork from St George's Art and Heritage Collection can be found in Atkinson Morley Wing at St George's Hospital. It reminds us of the seaside, with roads similar to those which you can ride as you get to the top of Ditchling Beacon! 😍 🚴

✨ P.S. There is a flash sale currently on to sign up. Don’t miss out! - https://www.stgeorgeshospitalcharity.org.uk/london-to-brighton-cycle

Join Team George’s for London to Brighton 2025! 🚴💜 £5.50 Flash Sale! 💜🚴‍♀️

"This will be the sixth year that I have ridden the London to Brighton for St George’s Hospital Charity, and particularly the Time for a Change Appeal. What began with just six paediatric staff (and a few friends and family) in 2019 has grown into a much larger, multidisciplinary team. It’s become a fixture in our social calendar.

We welcome riders of all capabilities, always allowing time for a coffee stop in Chipstead, an ale in Ardingly, deep breaths (and cheers) at the top of Ditchling Beacon, and finally a well-earned dip in the sea at Brighton. Over the years, we’ve raised thousands for the cause, and even saved a couple of lives enroute.”

It's been two whole weeks since we concluded St George's Arts Week 2025 - what an epic celebration of arts and creativity in our hospitals!

This year our theme was 'Framing Our Heritage', and every activity or performance was inspired by a piece of art in our St George's Art and Heritage Collection.

We are so proud of the programme, and the joy it brought to our community from both the quiet, and louder moments.
