We will host a BUSOG events days such as the BUSOG national conference day, where students can present research, projects and posters and have the opportunity to be chosen to present at the RCOG annual conference day. We plan to be a source of information on funding and opportunities for electives and involvement in O&G projects ongoing in the UK. Our website will be an online destination for those interested in obstetrics and gynaecology. It will enable students to access educational resources, including podcasts and revision notes. It will encourage shared learning, with monthly prizes for the best submitted and peer-reviewed revision articles on common O&G topics. Our website will also host a forum where students can participate in discussion, share experiences of and tips for O&G placements and we will offer the opportunity to curate a BUSOG blog. In collaboration with Barts OG Soc

Are you interested in what the Specialised Foundation Programme is and how to get involved? Come along to a talk by the wonderful Dr. Holly Egan (SFP FY2) as she talks about her experiences of the Specialised Foundation Programme in Gynaecology, specifically in the field of Gynae-Oncology.

Dr. Holly Egan is an Academic Foundation Doctor at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, currently on her research rotation within Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her work focuses on early detection of ovarian cancer, particularly
the role of extracellular vesicles and glycosylation. As part of this, she recently undertook a fellowship in the United States, where she worked on gaining skills in EV isolation and characterisation.

During medical school, she developed a strong interest in women’s health and oncology, which led her to pursue an academic pathway that integrates research, clinical work, and teaching. Outside of research, she is passionate about medical education and mentoring students interested in academic careers.

In her free time, she uses social media () to document her journey through academia and clinical training, aiming to inspire and demystify the world of academic medicine for others.
