Rocker-bottom shoes are everywhere right now. But are they actually doing anything for your running?
They can reduce load through the forefoot, which may help with conditions such as metatarsalgia or Achilles tendon irritation. That does not mean they are a magic fix. When you take the load off one area, it usually shifts to another.
Do they make you faster? The evidence is not clear. They change biomechanics, but that does not automatically mean better performance.
For some people, they feel great. For others they feel unstable, especially if you already struggle with ankle control.
Bottom line. It depends on you. Your injury history. Your running style. Your comfort.
If it feels good and you are progressing well, stick with it. If not, it might be worth reassessing.
As always, if you are unsure, get it checked out. :)
