A lovely day at the Harpenden Springs Open Day 🌿

It was wonderful to welcome so many families, local dignitaries, and members of the Harpenden community to explore the new eco-care home and meet the team. The day was full of great conversations, tours of the home, and a real sense of community.

We are thrilled to announce that tomorrow we are hosting our fourth Oakland Care Awards 2026 at the prestigious St. Ermin's Hotel - Autograph Collection’s Hotel in London!

This is one of the most significant events on our calendar, and we are excited to come together to celebrate all of our amazing team members.

We are delighted to have our sponsors, Care Shop, Nourish Care and Prosperwell join us in attendance and partner with us to recognise the exceptional dedication of our colleagues.

During our awards event, we will celebrate our outstanding team members for providing the best possible care for our residents, going above and beyond daily in their roles, living our values, exceeding our expectations, and building a sustainable future.

🎤 Spotlight on Lamin – One of Our Oakland Care’s Got Talent Winners! 💙

Lamin, a Healthcare Assistant at our Woodland Grove Care Home, brought incredible energy to the auditions — connecting with the crowd, getting everyone involved, and leading the room with confidence and rhythm. His singing and drumming had everyone on their feet, clapping along and loving every moment. 💙🎶

🌸✨ A Truly Heartfelt 5th Anniversary Celebration at Elsyng House ✨🌸

The team at Elsyng House recently celebrated their 5th Anniversary with a very special visit from the Mayor of Enfield, Margaret Greer.

The Mayor shared a touching speech recognising the dedication of the team and the strong community spirit within the home. One unforgettable moment followed when she sang “Lean on Me” — as residents, families and staff joined in, filling the room with emotion and unity. It was a beautiful reminder of everything Elsyng House stands for: support, friendship and always being there for one another. 💛

As part of the celebrations, two valued team members, Geraldine and Angela, were proudly presented with their 5-Year Long Service Awards — a testament to their compassion, commitment and care. Moments like these truly reflect the family spirit at Elsyng House.

Everyone at Oakland Care is incredibly proud of the journey Elsyng House has shared with its residents and families over the past five years.

Designed for individuals seeking additional support with wellbeing, mobility, and rehabilitation, The Rehab Retreat offers personalised programmes for those recovering from surgery, transitioning from hospital, regaining strength, or improving physical function.

Open to both residents and non‑residents, it provides daily , expert clinical guidance, and a seamless handover from hospital discharge or NHS referrals.

With a dedicated, purpose‑built physiotherapy suite and round‑the‑clock professional care, individuals benefit from improved confidence, enhanced mobility, reduced risk of readmission, and peace of mind for families.
