Lemomade Mamas On a mission to help mums feel great 🍋💚

13/03/2026

Month 9 of maternity leave hits like a financial freight train. We joke about the “coffee budget” but the reality is much heavier. Going from a professional salary to statutory pay (or nothing at all) while working a 100-hour week is a mental hurdle no one prepares you for.

It’s hard to feel like “you” when your financial independence evaporates. To all the mums checking your banking app with one eye closed today. We see you. You’re doing a world-class job for a system that doesn’t pay the bills 💚

We love this utterly relatable reel from

The maths of motherhood…

Next time you wonder why you’re tired, remember the scale of what you’re managing. You aren’t just “getting by” - you are a POWERHOUSE 💚

The 4th Trimester Truths ⚡️

We need to stop talking about “bouncing back” like we’re a piece of elastic. Postpartum is a total physiological takeover. It’s the drain full of hair, the skin that feels like a stranger’s and the emotional vertigo that nobody prepares you for.

It’s not “losing yourself” it’s a massive, unfiltered internal shift. We’re pulling back the curtain on why your body is doing that, and how to actually navigate the fallout without the toxic expectations.

Swipe for the raw data on your postpartum body. No filter, just facts 🍋

We joke about “baby brain” but here is what we don’t say enough of:

Pregnancy changes the brain. Not in a silly way. Not in a “you’re losing it” way. In a biological, measurable, adaptive way.

Brain structure shifts. Hormones reshape emotional processing. Attention reallocates. Sensitivity increases.

This isn’t weakness. It isn’t incompetence. It’s a nervous system recalibrating during one of the biggest transitions of your life.

And yet we expect pregnant women to perform the same. Carry the same load. Remember everything.

That expectation is the problem - not you.

If you’re more emotional, more forgetful, more overwhelmed… that makes sense.

Your body is doing extraordinary work. Your brain is preparing you for connection and protection.

You are not failing. You are adapting. And that deserves support đź’š

Postpartum recovery isn’t just about stitches healing or your core coming back together.

It’s about the version of you that was born too.

The hormonal waves.
The confidence wobbles.
The quiet “who even am I now” moments at 3am.

Your body did something extraordinary.
And your heart and mind are doing some extraordinary too.

This season deserves tenderness.
Support.
Conversation.
Community.

You are not weak for finding it overwhelming.
You are human đź’š

Pregnancy can be magical
And it can be heavy
Sometimes in the very same hour.

If today feels overwhelming… slower than you expected… lonelier than you imagined… this is for you.

These are your gentle reminders for pregnant days đź’š

We don’t talk about this enough.

You can be deeply in love with your baby
and still feel completely alone.

Loneliness in motherhood isn’t rare.
It isn’t dramatic.
It isn’t a personal failing.

It’s what happens when we expect women to raise babies without a village.

We tell mums to “soak it up.”
To “enjoy every minute.”
To “be grateful.”

But who’s asking if they feel supported?

At Lemonade, we’re not here for judgement.
We’re not here for comparison.
We’re not here for the bounce-back narrative.

We’re here for honest conversations.
For showing up as you are.
For building the kind of community that makes loneliness less loud.

Because motherhood was never meant to be done behind closed doors.

And you deserve more than just coping đź’š
