This week in therapy, our Year 1 groups explored Room on the Broom through sensory storytelling activities designed to support language and communication in fun, engaging ways.

Using props like fans to create the “wind” and character toys to act out key parts of the story, we brought the book to life while modelling language using aided language displays.

We also included colourful semantics activities, using the story pictures to support sentence building and understanding of sentence structure through visual, interactive resources.

A great way to support communication through play, stories, and shared experience!

West London Speech and Language Therapy

Quality speech and language therapy services for children aged 0-18 years.

West London Speech and Language Therapy was set up in 2013 by two therapists with 30 years of NHS experience. The team is commissioned to provide services into mainstream primary schools across a number of boroughs in West London, as well as to support individual families at home and in our clinic in Shepherd’s Bush. West London Speech and Language Therapy is dedicated to providing high quality services to all children, families and schools we work with. We offer assessment and therapy for children with speech delay/disorder, language delay/disorder, dyspraxia, stammering, global developmental delay, Autism Spectrum Disorders and other social communication difficulties. We also offer online services through tele-practice so that you can access support no matter where you are! Please see our website for further information: www.wlspeechtherapy.co.uk.
