Over the last week I have been doing a lot of work on calming the nervous system via Brain Retraining exercises, Somatic movement and Vegas Nerve stimulation.

During one of the videos I was watching, the lady talked about slowing everything down to the ‘pace of your body’ rather than rushing at the ‘speed of the brain’.

This really resonated and has stuck with me, especially when I feel myself pushing too hard or too fast, I remind myself to slow down.

The idea that my body knows what it needs more than my brain is an interesting concept but makes total sense. When we sit with the breath and really connect to the body, that’s where the sweet spot is.
