Network as ONE is about finding support, connection and community throughout your career.

After graduating, Oliver Nightingale joined the CSP’s West Midlands Regional Network to connect with other physiotherapists locally. Through network events and getting involved with One CSP, he built relationships across trusts and gained mentorship, advice and support from experienced colleagues.

His story is a great example of how local networks can open doors and help members feel part of the profession.

‘Advanced practice physiotherapists are highly trained, regulated practitioners who provide expert care to patients in a range of settings across the NHS.

‘Their skills, knowledge and expertise complement what other professions bring to teams treating patients and have an exceptionally strong record on safety.'

The CSP has responded strongly to media claims over the weekend around the safety of advanced practice roles in the NHS.

CSP condemns reported homophobic attack

We are deeply concerned by reports of an attack in Bristol, in which a man has been left in a critical condition following a serious assault that police are investigating as a hate crime.

Our thoughts are with the individual affected, their loved ones, and the wider LGBTQIA+ community. No one should face violence, intimidation or harm because of who they are.

The CSP stands in clear and unequivocal solidarity with all our members and communities who experience discrimination, harassment or hate. We recognise that homophobia does not exist in isolation. There are close and often overlapping links between all forms of discriminatory hate, including racism, sexism, ableism, transphobia and other forms of prejudice. These harms are interconnected and so too must be our response.

We stand in lock step with any member experiencing any form of hate or exclusion. Whether this occurs in the workplace, in public spaces, or within the communities we serve, it is unacceptable and must be challenged.

We will continue to support our members, advocate for safer and more inclusive environments, and work alongside partners and stakeholders to address the wider structural and societal drivers of discrimination.

There is no place for hate in our society, our services, or our profession.

We are deeply concerned by reports of an attack in Bristol, in which a man has been left in a critical condition following a serious assault that police are investigating as a hate crime.

It's Deaf Awareness Week 🦻

Around 12 million adults in the UK are deaf or have hearing loss. This is why it’s so important that workplaces and places of study are accessible and inclusive for everyone.

We previously spoke with Community Physiotherapist, Fran Milne, who was born profoundly deaf, about her experiences navigating working life throughout her 40-year career.
