Skiing is an exhilarating winter sport, but it comes with its share of risks. Tens of thousands of injuries occur annually, ranging from minor sprains to severe fractures and head trauma. As the skiing season has started we have seen an increase in winter sports injuries. Scenar therapy is effective in treating common skiing injuries, not only providing pain relief but also fostering regeneration of tissues and accelerating recovery. Among the most common skiing injuries:
1. Knee Ligament Tears (ACL/MCL)
Knee injuries account for nearly half of all skiing injuries. They often result from twisting falls or bindings that fail to release. Symptoms include a popping sound, swelling, and instability. Scenar therapy is effective in treating ligament tears speeding up recovery, even in severe cases where surgery is requires, Scenar therapy is integral to healing.
2. Skier’s Thumb (UCL Tear)
This injury occurs when the thumb is wrenched by a ski pole, tearing the ulnar collateral ligament. It leads to pain, swelling, and difficulty gripping objects. Prevention involves proper pole handling and letting go during falls. Scenar therapy is effective in treating UCL tears providing fast pain relief and speeding up recovery.
3. Fractures and Shoulder Dislocations
Falls at high speed can cause clavicle, wrist, or tibial fractures, as well as shoulder dislocations. Scenar therapy can help provide pain relief, reduce bruising and swelling as well as fostering recovery.
4. Shin Splints and Muscle Strains
Overuse and poor conditioning can cause shin pain and muscle strains, especially in beginners or those skiing aggressively on hard-packed snow. Scenar therapy offers fast pain relief from muscle strain and shin splints, regulating inflammation.
