Last week, the Finders International teams across London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Hull and Dublin came together for our Summer AGM.

It was a fantastic afternoon of reflection, recognition, and celebration after an incredible year. 👏

We also celebrated our amazing team with our annual staff awards, including peer-nominated and line manager-nominated winners 🏆 A big congratulations to all the nominees! And to round things off, we enjoyed a tasty BBQ and wrapped up the day with a game of bingo, raising over £250 for AtaLoss and the Irish Hospice Foundation - our nominated charities for 2025 💚

What can public health funerals tell us about inequality, isolation, and the hidden costs of dying?

A new report from the ESRC Centre for Population Change examines every public health funeral recorded in England between 2014/15 and 2020/21; including, for the first time, those arranged by NHS Trusts.

Some of the key findings:
➡️ Rates are significantly higher in areas of deprivation, homelessness and overcrowding.
➡️ Older men are disproportionately represented, possibly reflecting changing family structures.
➡️ London and coastal towns are among the most affected.
➡️ The cost to the NHS alone is estimated at over £10 million — a figure previously undocumented.

This is vital, quietly powerful work that deserves serious attention from policymakers, councils, and care providers. We believe that urgent policy reforms are needed to support vulnerable older people, relieve council budgets, and uphold dignity for every citizen's final journey.

Uninhabitable, neglected, and vacant for years… yet still worth over £1 million? 🏚️💰

An increasing number of abandoned homes are hitting the market with eye-watering price tags - as previous owners pass away without heirs, and the properties fall into disrepair.

We spoke to The i paper about this growing trend, particularly in areas that have gentrified over time. As our International Manager Ryan Gregory explains:
