Empty homes are back in national focus this week 🏠 - following BBC coverage ( https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0s5Ns70🔗) highlighting the call for a National Empty Homes Strategy led by 25 housing sector organisations.
As proud signatories to the coalition letter sent to Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook, we at Finders International stand with professionals across local authorities who deal daily with the realities of 309,000+ long‑term empty homes in England — a huge, ready‑made opportunity to ease housing pressures.
Much of the coalition’s message reflects what Empty Homes Officers and Housing Teams tell us all the time: local authorities need stronger powers and better resources to bring these properties back into use.
As we approach National Empty Homes Week (9–15 March), this renewed spotlight is a welcome push to keep the issue firmly on the agenda.
Proud to work alongside partners such as on Empty Homes, Cliff, and Homes Network, continuing the collective effort to turn empty properties into real homes for local people.
