August marks Psoriasis Awareness Month 🗓️

Did you know that psoriasis is not contagious, but the stigma is real?
Many people mistakenly believe psoriasis is infectious, which can lead to social isolation, workplace discrimination, and emotional distress.

Psoriasis is a whole-body inflammatory disease, not just a skin condition or cosmetic concern. If you or someone you know is living with psoriasis, early treatment and lifestyle adjustments such as healthy eating, stress management, and quitting smoking are essential to help prevent long-term complications.

Together, we can raise awareness, challenge misconceptions, and support those affected.

My good friend and colleague, Dr. Wanda Robles' very interesting and useful book, "Skin disease in Travelers" , it was exposed at the American Academy of Dermatology springers stand.
Congratulations Wanda, great work! It is a very relevant book nowadays, not only for turistic reasons but forced deplacements.
