We cannot BEGIN to tell you how excited we are to be launching a daytime version of Sing out Sutton! We've been running Thursday evening sessions since June 2021, and have grown and grown, including setting up wonderful Singing for Breathing sessions on Tuesday afternoons to help people improve their lung health. We have grown so much that, thanks to support, interest and the dedication of our team behind the scenes, we are running a trial daytime choir for 14 weeks, up to Christmas.

If you’ve seen our recent fundraiser, you may be thinking “it’s great to have the defibrillators around, but I hope I never have to use one!”

Of course the understandable reason is because you wouldn’t want to see someone you know (or don’t) in a condition where they need one.

If it’s because you’re also thinking…

- I don’t know what to do if I see someone isn’t breathing 😔
- I have no idea how to use a defibrillator! ☹️
- What if I get it wrong? 😫
- Someone else will be able to do it? 🤞🏼
- I’d be too scared in this situation 😱

Then book on to one of the The Paul Alan Project courses to learn about how you can help if someone collapses or has a cardiac arrest.

The Paul Alan Project has already trained 2,000 in these lifesaving skills ❤️

Our 'Training 28' basic life-saving sessions will be bookable from Spring 2023. Our training will include how to spot the signs of a cardiac arrest, the importance of acting quickly and how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator. Our training will cost just £1 per person.

We have recently supported an amazing charity that makes sure accessible defibrillators are there to restart the hearts of people who may have suffered a CARDIAC ARREST (heart stops beating) in the community.

💔Cardiac arrests may happen because of many reasons, but the most common one is ischaemic heart disease. This is where there is damage to the heart because of narrowing of the blood vessels around the heart.

🚭One of the main causes of this is SMOKING.

You can help prevent this happening to you by QUITTING THE HABIT.

This poster shows all the LOCAL SUTTON PHARMACIES that can help you quit. There is also a new App which you will have access to for free if you sign up!

💪Do something today to PROTECT YOUR FUTURE HEALTH and make sure you are as healthy as you can be for as long as possible!

You have helped us absolutely smash our initial target of £500…then we stretched our target to £750 to be able to proudly pay for a whole new defibrillator. We then asked for an extra £100 to pay for a bleed kit, and you helped us with this too!!

Our current total is now an incredible £1325

Thankyou to our fellow central Sutton GP surgery The Old Court House Surgery who donated today too ❤️
