Grateful to share this long-term result following a complex Septorhinoplasty.

The patient sustained a significant nasal trauma in childhood, resulting in a severely deviated septum, asymmetric and unstable tip complex, and dense scar tissue throughout the soft tissue envelope. A full septal reconstruction was carried out using the extracorporeal technique to restore both structure and function. To address asymmetry, a left-sided alar base and nostril sill excision was also performed. Scars have healed exceptionally well, allowing the new framework to settle naturally. A technically demanding case — but deeply rewarding to see both form and function restored. A happy outcome for both patient and surgeon.

Huge thanks to my lovely patient for allowing me to share her post-op transformation 🙏

She had undergone multiple surgeries in the past to manage a rare condition called eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis — a chronic inflammatory disorder that can lead to tissue scarring and destruction within the nasal cavity. Over time, this caused the delicate cartilaginous framework of her nose to collapse.

We carried out a full nasal reconstruction using rib cartilage, restoring both the structure and function of her nose. The result: a straighter, more stable nasal bridge, correction of the saddle nose, a narrower profile, and much improved breathing.

Recurrent sports injuries—especially from contact sports like rugby—can cause significant damage to the nasal bones and cartilage. This patient had several nasal traumas over the course of his rugby career, resulting in multiple fractures and structural instability.⁠

She’d always felt self-conscious about her dorsal hump and the droopiness of her tip.
