As we draw to the end of 2026 - in the UK at least! - we give thanks to all the women who have contributed to the NHS and to mental health through the decades, from , , , , , all our stakeholders, and partners, and their families.

We continue to work to improve the experiences and outcomes for all our women, and with at the heart of our work, we particularly think of all those women who also identify with other protected characteristics, from ethnicity to sexuality, disability to life responsibilities.

This years’ Eating Disorder Awareness Week theme is 'community' and we are highlighting the support that is available in the community to residents in North London.

Our Eating Disorder Recovery Hubs offer specialist, early support locally for adults registered with a GP in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington.

The hubs provide assessment and talking therapy treatment for people who may have milder symptoms. This prevents difficulties from escalating and reduces the need for more intensive treatment later on.

If your relationship with food is taking up too much space in your head, help is available. Speak to your GP.

Ramadan Mubarak to all our Muslim NHS colleagues, service users and carers across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, Islington.

For many Muslims, Ramadan is a time of fasting. It is also a time of prayer, charity, reflection and being with family and friends.

As colleagues, friends, and members of the community, we can all play a part in creating a supportive environment.

In the workplace, this is might look like:

✅Being mindful that those who are fasting may have lower energy levels, especially later in the day
✅ Avoid asking personal questions about why someone may or may not be fasting
✅Scheduling meetings considerately around lunchtime and Friday prayers (Jumu’ah, usually around 1pm)

Yesterday we were proud to officially open the Roger Sylvester Centre alongside our partners Haringey Council and Mind in Haringey 💙

Roger was a local resident who tragically died in 1999. He wanted to dedicate his life to supporting others with their mental health. The new centre named in his honour continues that commitment, making it easier for people across the borough to get the support they need, where they need it.

We were joined by Roger Sylvester’s family and friends, Leader of the Council, Cllr Peray Ahmet, Mayor of Haringey, Cllr Ahmed Mahbuband, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care & Wellbeing, Cllr Lucia das Neves to mark the opening of this new, integrated mental health hub, bringing vital services together under one roof.
