FIVE years ago my third baby was born, KaraJones Communication Therapy (KJCT). Looking back I am beyond proud of the journey we've been on . Besties and business partners, not many get to say that.

I can say with certainty that I've never worked harder in my life. I can also say that I have never felt more fulfilled and more in control of my career.

Starting a business with a toddler and 3 month old in the midst of a global pandemic when I should've been on 'mat leave' probably was a little crazy to say the least 👶😶‍🌫️
It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made.

It's never been easy but I put in the graft, trusted my instincts whilst learning to follow my gut and believe in myself.

I am proud of where we are today - a business that allows me flexibility when I need it to raise my girls but also do what I love most - helping others.

Grateful to Emma for everything she does, for the trust and love we have for each other and our families.

Grateful to our wonderful clients, schools and families for - here's to the next 5 years of growth ⭐️

New academic year = fresh notepad 🗒️

How satisfying is opening up that clean page of a new notepad at the start of term?

We have just wrapped up six hours of back-to-back INSET training for one of our incredible SEN schools. Whilst it was a complete shock to the system after just returning from the glorious Costa del Sol, it was incredibly fulfilling to get back to making a difference and having thoughtful discussions with colleagues.

We feel so lucky to work with such a passionate team, all working towards the same goals: improved communication for our learners.

🌟 We are excited to welcome Priya to the KJCT team

Meet our newest Speech and Language Therapist Priya.

Priya started last month and is already becoming an integral member of our team. She will be supporting the KJCT founders in their mission of enhancing communication for all learners with the new "Communication Development Protocol" which ties into a robust specialised curriculum.

This is a truly exciting time and we are thrilled to have found the right Speech and Language Therapist to join us on this journey.

My sassiest client to date. My youngest daughter.

I had mixed feelings about starting therapy on my 4 year old daughter's frontal lisp.

Sienna was having full blown conversations at 2 years old which is probably why I have had questions from family for years like;

When will you start her therapy?
Is it time to sort out that "s" sound?

At 4, she was showing signs of readiness and I knew I had to take this window of opportunity. The truth is, I am not a specialist 'speech sound' therapist I am an Autism and Complex Needs therapist. I had no idea how she would take to mummy playing teacher... and next week she might be less complaint. But let's be honest, speech work is our bread and butter and there was no chance I was going to have a colleague step in until I had a stab myself. Plus, I've been really enjoying working with speech disorders recently.

So here we are on our first session, in school. I knew she was more likely to listen to me in her educational setting.

She smashed it, but then I have been drip feeding the meta-phonological and visual cues for months before we officially started.

I want to shout out to , her resources are absolutely fantastic. Rebecca works so hard on these resources. They are my go-to resource for any speech client - if you work with kids with speech difficulties and you don't use them already, check her out!

KJCT were honoured to be asked to present at the first trust training day of its kind. A day for empowering the wonderful support staff, who work across mainstream schools in West Essex, providing invaluable support to our neurodiverse students.

What a fantastic day, giving staff the opportunity to access not 1 but 8 exciting workshops (2 led by KJCT) full of practical ideas to take back to their teams!

KJCT are now taking on new schools from January for bespoke provision. DM/ email enquires.
