Breast reduction surgery can be life-changing, not just physically, but emotionally too.

Many patients come to see me after years of discomfort, whether that’s neck and shoulder pain, difficulty finding clothes that fit comfortably, limitations with exercise, or simply feeling self-conscious about their appearance.

This patient recently underwent breast reduction surgery and was kind enough to share their experience.

This patient came to see me after previously being told that nothing could be done to improve the shape and position of his earlobes.

Using a local anaesthetic procedure that took less than an hour, we were able to reposition the earlobes into a more natural, balanced position while maintaining a subtle and proportionate result.

Even relatively small concerns can have a significant impact on confidence, and I believe careful surgical planning and attention to detail are essential in achieving natural-looking outcomes.

I chose plastic surgery because it brings together some of the most important aspects of medicine to me, restoring function, rebuilding confidence, and improving quality of life.

What I value most about this specialty is the incredible variety it offers. Plastic surgery is not limited to one gender, one age group, or one part of the body. Every patient, every diagnosis, and every reconstructive challenge is unique.

Whether it’s reconstructive surgery following skin cancer, helping someone feel more comfortable in their appearance, or supporting a patient through a difficult diagnosis, every procedure is deeply personal.

What continues to inspire me most is the trust patients place in me during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. Being able to combine technical precision with compassionate care is a privilege I never take for granted.

Skin Cancer Awareness Month is an important reminder that early diagnosis and expert treatment can make a significant difference.

This case demonstrates the complexity of scalp reconstruction following removal of a large squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). After excision of the cancer, advanced reconstructive techniques were required to restore durable scalp coverage and support healing.

While these images are graphic, I believe patient education is important in helping people understand both the seriousness of skin cancer and the reconstructive options available following treatment.

If you notice a changing lesion, non-healing area, or anything concerning on your skin, it is always worth getting it assessed early.

Hearing that a patient felt respected, reassured, and well cared for throughout their treatment journey means a great deal to me.

This patient underwent removal of a skin cancer on the nose with local flap reconstruction, and I’m grateful they chose to share their experience following surgery.

When treating skin cancer, my priority is always complete cancer removal while aiming for the best possible functional and aesthetic outcome for each individual patient.

Skin Cancer Awareness Month is an important reminder that not all skin cancers present as a small mole or subtle skin change.

This young patient delayed seeking medical attention for a scalp lesion, which ultimately required complex reconstructive surgery following removal. The aim of surgery was not only to safely remove the cancer, but also to preserve as much hair-bearing scalp as possible using an O to Z local flap reconstruction, avoiding the need for a skin graft.

These cases highlight why early assessment matters. Changes in the skin that persist, bleed, crust, grow, or fail to heal should never be ignored.

Early diagnosis can often mean simpler treatment and smaller reconstruction. Delayed treatment can lead to far more extensive surgery.
