🤔 Mole Check FAQs: Thinking about getting a mole checked but not sure what's involved?
Here's what you need to know:

What is a mole check service?
A quick, painless way to get peace of mind about any moles or skin spots you're worried about. It helps spot early signs of melanoma or other skin cancers.

Here's how it works:
- A trained medical photographer takes clear, magnified images using a dermatoscope
- A consultant dermatologist reviews your images on a secure platform You'll find out if your mole looks harmless or needs further investigation

What's a dermatoscopic image?
It's a close-up photograph taken with a dermatoscope—a special tool that shows details beneath the skin's surface that aren't visible to the naked eye, helping dermatologists check for early signs of skin cancer.

What happens during the appointment?
- Quick consultation and photography (10-20 minutes)
- A trained medical photographer will ask a few simple questions and take high-quality images of up to 4 moles you're concerned about.
- Expert review
- Your images are uploaded securely to a digital platform where a consultant dermatologist reviews them and gives a clinical opinion.

Your results
You'll receive a written report by email within 48 hours. If anything needs urgent attention, a dermatology nurse will contact you to explain the next steps.

With a magnetic field twice as strong as a standard 1.5T scanner, our 3T MRI produces sharper, more detailed images thanks to an enhanced signal-to-noise ratio. This level of precision helps identify minute lesions, subtle changes in tissue, and highly detailed structures in areas such as the brain, blood vessels, bone marrow, and cartilage.

Patients also benefit from quicker scan times and a more comfortable experience, with modern 3T systems offering wide 70 cm bores and relaxing lighting and audio options. MRI remains generally safe when standard screening is followed, especially regarding implants or metal.

We’re delighted to share that medneo UK has acquired Fairford Medical’s MRI and CT fleet — a major milestone that expands our capacity to support the NHS and provide faster access to vital diagnostic services for patients across the UK.

This is our first acquisition since CVC DIF’s investment in August 2024, marking the start of an ambitious strategy to build one of the UK’s leading diagnostic service providers.

By integrating Fairford’s mobile and modular fleet, we’re:
