We’re proud to share a significant milestone for Chase Lodge Hospital.

Today, we successfully completed our first 5-hour surgical procedure under general anaesthetic in our brand new Day Surgery Unit, led by Dr Hakan Tekin.

This marks an important step forward in the expansion of our surgical capabilities and reflects the strength of our clinical team, our state-of-the-art facilities, and our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

A huge thank you to Dr Tekin and the entire theatre, anaesthetic, and nursing teams whose expertise, precision, and collaboration made this possible.

As we continue to grow, our vision remains: consultant-led care, advanced facilities, and an exceptional patient experience - closer to home. Today, March 1st, marks Self-Harm Awareness Day.

At Chase Lodge Hospital, we want to help change the conversation around self-harm.

Our CEO and Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Ibrahim Yahli, explains why awareness alone is not enough. We need healthcare environments where people feel safe, listened to, and supported early, before they reach crisis point.

He highlights the importance of:
• Early intervention
• Compassionate, trauma-informed care
• Removing stigma from mental health conversations
• Creating spaces where people feel heard, not judged
