🌺 Aloha from Broadgate Care Home🌺

What a vibrant, joy-filled day it was at Broadgate's Hawaiian Summer Fete. The home was transformed into a tropical paradise, setting up multiple themed showrooms with beautiful decor. Our residents were swept away by the summer vibes, complete with lively Hawaiian music, a fantastic staff dance performance, and plenty of sunshine and smiles.

🌟 Resident of the Week 🌟
Meet Walter, our charming and much-admired resident at Cheaney Court. A true gentleman with a twinkle in his eye and a heart full of kindness, Walter is known for his sharp wit, warm spirit, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome.

💊 Walter spent the majority of his working life as a pharmacist at Boots Chemist, a career that perfectly suited his caring and thoughtful nature. He always took pride in helping others and continues to be a great listener and friend to many in our home.

💙 A devoted husband to his beloved late wife, Sue, Walter often shares heartfelt stories of their long and loving marriage. Together, they raised two wonderful children who remain an important and cherished part of his life.

⚽🎾 A lifelong sports enthusiast, Walter’s passions include cricket, golf, tennis, and especially horse racing — you’ll often find him catching the latest races on TV. But it’s Leicester City FC that truly holds his heart, and their famous Premier League win still brings a proud smile to his face.

🎉 Here at Cheaney Court, Walter’s sense of humour, empathy, and storytelling make him a true favourite among staff and residents alike. His presence lights up the room, and his friendly chats and cheeky jokes bring joy to our daily life.

In Loving Memory of Diane 🕯️🌹

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Deputy Manager at Westhaven, Diane.

Diane was a cherished part of the Westhaven family for over 8 years. As a key member of our nursing team, her strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication brought comfort and reassurance to our residents, their families, and our entire team.

She led with kindness and excellence, earning the love and trust of everyone around her. Always ready with a warm smile and a quick-witted remark, Diane had a special gift for making people feel at ease.

Even through her brave battle with cancer, Diane’s heart remained with Westhaven. She would often call to check on the well-being of our residents — a true testament to her deep care and selflessness.

Diane was taken from us far too soon. Her presence will be sorely missed, but her spirit and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Rest in peace, Diane. 💜

Turnpike Court - Minster Care Group values the moments that bring the community closer. 💙

One such cherished tradition is the monthly visit from St Peter's Church, Elworth, Sandbach, where residents attend a short, meaningful service. It’s a time filled with reflection, comfort, and spiritual connection. ⛪✨

Recently, residents gathered around to watch the Licensing Service of Revd Harry Frost online. To everyone’s delight, Revd Harry then joined us in person at our next service! It was a wonderful surprise and an absolute privilege to welcome him to our home.

Moments like these remind us that community and faith know no boundaries — they continue to grow and flourish within the heart of Turnpike Court. 💖

Meet Tony, affectionately known as Maders (Anthony Bailey), our cheerful and much-loved resident at Turnpike Court. A devoted husband, father, and loyal friend to many, Tony’s life is a shining example of kindness, passion, and community spirit.

⚽ Tony’s love for sports has been a lifelong joy, from football, cricket, and badminton to proudly serving as the Sandbach Golf Club Team Captain. His sporting achievements reflect his dedication, teamwork, and zest for life.

🚛 Tony followed in his father’s footsteps, building a successful career at Fodens Trucks, a name he shares countless stories about, always with pride and fondness. Born and raised in Elworth, Sandbach, Tony’s roots run deep, and he holds his hometown close to his heart.

🎶 Here at Turnpike Court, Tony brightens everyone's days with his warm smile, caring nature, and his enthusiasm for our sing-alongs. His good humour and positivity are truly infectious, making him an inspiration to us all.

🧡 Tony’s story is a wonderful reminder of the joy that comes from friendship, family, and living life with passion and the very values we celebrate at Minster Care Group.

🏡Care Home Open Week at Holcroft Grange 🏡

Last week, a few of the Minster Homes joined in a nationwide celebration of 2025, welcoming families, friends, and the community to experience life at our home.

Holcroft Grange marked the week with a delightful coffee morning and Health Fayre. The morning was filled with fresh coffee, sweet treats, and a cheerful raffle draw packed with exciting prizes that brought smiles all around! 🎁☕🍰

The home also welcomed , who hosted an engaging and informative session on the importance of eye care for older adults. Residents, visitors, and staff truly valued the helpful advice, leaflets, and one-on-one chats provided during the event. 👁️💬📘

Moments like these truly reflect the strong sense of community, care, and well-being we foster every day at every Minster home.

For a beautiful, sunny day, residents had an adorable visit from the Alpacas in the garden.esidents enjoyed gentle alpaca walks, feeding them sliced carrots 🥕, and soaking up the calming joy these furry friends brought with them.

Residents had a fabulous time dancing with our glamorous guests Lady Sylva and Lady Krystal, turning the lounge into a celebration of love, joy, and self-expression. 💃🎉

🌎NEW ACTIVITY SPOTLIGHT 🌎

🌎Activity - Armchair Travel Days

Armchair Travel is a creative and immersive experience designed to bring the wonders of the world to our residents, all from the comfort of their care home.

✈️ Our brilliant team organises a full “travel day”, where residents are given boarding passes, staff dress in airline uniforms, and we “fly” to a different country. This week, we're shining the spotlight on a colourful and cultural journey that brought the sights, sounds, and flavours of Mexico straight to our home.

🇲🇽 This month’s Armchair Travel Day took residents on an immersive experience with Grenville Airlines – complete with passports, boarding passes, and even a dedicated security guard and air hostesses to make it feel just like the real thing. The experience continued with a delicious Mexican lunch of quesadillas, nachos, and rice 🧀🌶️🍚, followed by a fun-filled maraca decorating session 🎨, and lively music and dancing 💃🕺 that had everyone joining in with a smile!

🌟 TEAM MEMBER SHOUTOUT – MEET JEJE 🌟

Role : Head of Housekeeping at Grenville Court Care Home - Minster Care

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on the amazing Jeje, our employee of the week and a cherished member of the Grenville Court family.

Jeje began her journey with us in 2021 as a part of the culinary team, bringing positivity and dedication from day one. In 2023, she transitioned into the housekeeping team, where her eye for detail and caring nature made a lasting impression.

Always going above and beyond, Jeje can be found helping with activities, supporting colleagues, or pausing for a hug and a kind word with residents. Her presence brings a comforting energy that brightens every corner of our home.

In 2024, Jeje’s hard work and commitment led to her well-earned promotion to Head of Housekeeping and Infection Control Lead. Her leadership, initiative, and constant support for her team have made her a true pillar of the home.

With her warm smile and witty sense of humour, Jeje brings light and laughter to everyone around her. She’s not just a team member – she’s part of the heart of Grenville Court.
