Concierge Nursing is a term applied to a special kind of primary care nursing practice offering personalised, in-depth, convenient and high-quality healthcare services. Concierge Nurses typically provide a level of care beyond that of a standard general nurse practitioner, including such perks as easy scheduling of appointments, no waiting times, longer and more thorough examinations, coordination

of all medical care and visits to patients’ homes. Joffmed encompasses preventative health promotion through educating patients and families about illness: what it is and how to understand or live with it. We offer guidance about nutrition and health and promote positive lifestyle choices. Along with tailored tasks such as scheduling reminders for regular preventative screenings, we also provide in-home assessments and vaccinations.

🔴CHICKEN POX🔴
The outbreak is here. But what does this mean? Some children have it mildly, others not so much ( swipe 👉🏼).
It’s about 10 days off school/ nursery and if infected when an adult it can be very dangerous.

Here are some important facts about the pox and vaccine.

🔴 chicken pox is a highly contagious disease which presents as red itchy blisters and spreads over the body.
🔴 there is a vaccination available
🔴the vaccination is not part of the nhs schedule, it is only available privately.
🔴the vaccine can only be given once your child turns 1 year.
🔴 it is a live vaccine and cannot be given within 4 weeks of other live vaccines ( watch out for the 12 months jabs as there is a live one in there)
🔴although it is a live vaccine it is very well tolerated.
🔴if your child is exposed to chicken pox, they can incubate it for up to 21 days. If you would like to vaccinate them it is advisable to do this asap after exposure to minimise severity of pox. If they still get pox after first dose, more likely to be mild. Second dose not needed.
🔴 there are 2 doses, given 6-8 weeks apart.

After seeing it on lovely post. Thank you and thank you to for the initiative.

I’ve sat down to write this a few times because unfortunately, with mental health it’s not that simple and the quicker you can recognise symptoms and get help the better.

Swipe to see back to Jan 2020. I remember taking that photo so I could remind myself how sad I was. Not at anything in particular. But I was just sad and angry. If I wasn’t angry I was sad and vica versa. I didn’t feel “depressed” or “low” what does that even really feel like anyway? I just wasn’t me. And it had been a while.

I am very fortune to work with and have amazing people in my life so the initial consultation for me was easy. It was a lunch “business” meeting at Byron with . I was so emotional I couldn’t string sentences together. I had been in therapy for about a year prior to that and some sessions I just sat and cried for the hour. Again didn’t know why.

So at lunch it was explained to me that ‘typical’ symptoms of depression are sometimes not what you think. My anger was a kind of a pre depression state. I had reached the point where I had had enough of my own self inside my brain and I was ready. To take the help given.

So therapy continued, opening up to friends I trusted. Support groups for what I was going through and medication. Together is a magical combo.

There are no quick fixes and no easy outs but there is help to make the dark so much lighter.

Thank you to all those that have been there. I just love you so much

This wonderful patient of mine had an unlucky blackhead on her back that eventually formed into a large cyst.
🩹This had to be surgically removed and she was left with a rather large hole in her back!
🩹Woundcare was every 2 days, consisted of flushing the wound out, packing it and covering with sterile dressing. As with all dressings, key was to provide ultimate healing environment with no secondary infection.
🩹Wound healed via secondary intention ( from inside out).

TAKING OFF STICKY PLASTERS... .
Ever tried to take a super sticky plaster off your kid? Yea, it’s not super fun.
Worth stocking up on some adhesive remover spray. Tip: works best if you spray under then corners of the plaster as you remove it. Then it just gliiiiides off 💥

Welcome to where, for the next couple of weeks, I will be posting a case of healing and the miraculous things our bodies are capable of.
🤕Each case has given consent for pics.

All questions welcome.

Case 1: (part1)

Elderly patient who had trauma to her lower leg when entering a taxi. I was called late evening to see this patient who thought I could just “bandage it up”
To which I replied...” I’m not a magician!” And it took a LOT of convincing for her to go to hospital. It was 50/50 whether she would need a skin graft but with woundcare every 2 days... this is the end result. Patient was frustrated it took so long to heal but she was lucky we avoided infection and she did not need a skin graft. .

Now I am aware that she is the daughter of a nurse and has been taught how to do this properly. It has taken time.

The best tips I can offer if you have to do a home swab test are:

1) try make it fun- play doctor/nurse
2) be as fast ( but as accurate) as you can.
3) remember children’s anatomy is smaller so you will be more superficial in the nose than you would with an adult.
4) don’t practice before with cotton buds
5) do prep them before hand for a tickle in the nose and the throat

Good luck! Stay safe! We will beat this soon!
