🔹 What does “non-invasive” mean in medicine?
In medical terminology, a non-invasive procedure is one that doesn’t involve cutting the skin or inserting instruments into the body. This can be contrasted with invasive procedures - like traditional brain surgery - where the skull is opened and direct access to the brain is required. While effective in some cases, invasive surgery carries significant risks and involves long recovery times.
But there are alternatives. Advanced treatment options such as radiotherapy and Gamma Knife radiosurgery are considered non-invasive. They deliver powerful, targeted treatment without any cutting or physical intrusion into the head or neck.
For patients, this often means reduced risks, no surgical scars, and a faster return to normal life.
